If you currently use a credit card to pay your ATO obligations, you’ll need to switch to another payment method before the change comes into effect.

At our AHC Industry Day in June, we held four panel discussions where some brilliant people from across our industry sat on stage and openly shared their experiences, insights and advice – not because there was anything in it for them, but because helping another business become stronger ultimately helps our whole industry become stronger. 👏

This panel on Building Stronger Apprentices, hosted by Lyndal Salmon .salmon, brought together Carla Tedesco .orsi.75 from Alarah Studio , Loz Main from The Rumours Are True , Daniel Di Iorio .diiorio.90 from DIIORIO and Ali Holmes from Wildlife SOGO to talk honestly about building resilience and better supporting the next generation.

No sugar coating. No pretending anyone has all the answers. Just real people sharing what they've learned in the hope that someone else can benefit from it.

We see that same generosity among our AHC members all the time – people answering questions, sharing ideas, offering advice and genuinely wanting to see each other succeed.

Because stronger individual businesses make for a stronger industry.

And that's something worth celebrating. ❤️

🌟 What inspired you to pursue a career in the hair industry?
It started with the confidence I felt every time I got my own hair done and I wanted to give other people that same feeling. It's grown into so much more than that since, but that's still the heart of it. ❤️‍🩹
🌟 One piece of advice for someone starting out in hairdressing?
Give it everything you’ve got! Hairdressing is such a rewarding career, but the opportunities come from showing up, working hard, never stop learning and always looking to improve. ✅
🌟 What’s your go-to song or playlist that gets you in the zone while working in the salon?
I’m a huge country music fan, so I’d happily listen to country all day! 🤠
🌟 Fun fact people might not know?
Last year on my Spotify year wrap up I was in the top 0.03% of listeners for Luke Combs haha! 😅
🌟 Top tip to stay motivated during busy or tough times?
The people around me. My team inspires me every day - seeing their growth, passion and achievements is incredibly motivating. And since becoming a mum, my son has become my biggest “why”. Everything I do is about creating the best life I can for him, and that keeps me showing up, even on the tough days. 👏
🌟 If you could style any celebrity’s hair for a day, who would it be and why?
My hairstyle icons would have to be Ella Langley and Lucy Hale - their styles are effortless, modern and exactly what I love. My wildcard would be David Attenborough - I don’t even do men’s hair, but I think he’d be fascinating to chat with for an hour! 💋
🌟 What do you know now that you wish you had known earlier in your career?
You don’t need to have everything figured out. Success isn’t about being perfect, it’s about staying curious, backing yourself and never stopping learning. 🤗
🌟 What key lesson have you learnt that transformed your business or mindset?
Learning how to properly read and understand my P&L statement completely changed the way I run my business. It gave me clarity, helped me make better decisions, and shifted my mindset from simply working in the business to truly leading it. 🈂
🌟 What do you love about being part of AHC?
I genuinely love our industry, so I’m proud to be part of an organisation committed to supporting, celebrating and helping it grow. Raising professional standards, advocating for our industry and creating opportunities for the next generation is so important. 💯
