What you’re seeing here is a filiform wart, not a skin cancer. 🔍

Filiform warts are generally harmless and are caused by certain strains of human papillomavirus (HPV). They can grow quite quickly and often have a thin, thread-like appearance.

They’re commonly found around the face and neck, including areas such as the eyelids, nose, lips and chin. They can also become irritated from shaving, rubbing or picking.

The important thing is that not every unusual-looking skin growth is easy to identify just by looking at it. If a growth is changing, bleeding, persistently irritated, or you’re simply not sure what it is, it’s worth having it properly assessed.
