The body doesn’t work in isolation.

We often think of health problems as belonging to one particular part of the body — a brain issue, a hormone issue, an immune issue, or a nervous system issue.

But our body systems are constantly communicating and influencing one another.
In this episode of The Uncommon Minds Experience, Magic Barclay explains why looking at an isolated symptom may not always tell the whole story. The brain, nervous system, endocrine system and immune system are interconnected, and each relies on the others to function properly.

She also explores how sometimes simply focusing on blocking a symptom or response may mean we’re not asking why the body is responding that way in the first place.

The conversation goes deeper into root causes, chronic illness, cancer, PNEI, trauma and physical health, trauma-related scent triggers, autoimmune disorders, immune dysfunction, stress, cortisol and self-love.

What is your body trying to tell you?

Sometimes improving your relationship with your health starts with asking better questions.

In this short interview on the Beyond the Draft Podcast, Magic Barclay shares the three questions she regularly asks herself:

💭 Do I like the person I am today? If it was just me, could I live with myself?
💭 What are my values? What do I stand for?
💭 What is my body doing? What is it trying to tell me, and what does it need from me?

Magic also opens up about living with chronic illness and how learning to listen to her body has become an important part of managing her health.

Rather than ignoring the signals, she asks: What are you telling me? What do I need to do for you?

The conversation also explores trauma, PNEI, chronic illness strategies, self-work, negative self-talk, and even which animal Magic would choose to help her heal. 🐾

Your body, your values and your relationship with yourself are all part of the bigger health picture.

What if we stopped blaming and started asking why?

When someone develops heart disease, diabetes, or another chronic health issue, the conversation can quickly become about what they should have eaten, how much they should have exercised, or what they did “wrong.”

But could there be more to the story?

In this episode of The Everyday Health Struggle Podcast, Magic Barclay explores why we need to look at the bigger picture — including trauma, chronic stress, the effects of stress on the body, and the mind-body connection through PNEI.

Stress can affect many processes in the body, including cortisol and blood sugar regulation, which is why understanding someone's whole health history can be so important.

The conversation also explores holistic approaches to healthcare, getting to the root cause, and practical health tips you can start incorporating into everyday life.

🎧 Listen to the full episode to hear why your health story may be more complex than simply diet and exercise.

Movement matters, no matter your mobility. 🧍‍♀️♿

Did you know your lymphatic system relies on movement to help circulate lymph throughout the body?

In this interview, Health Is the Fuel for a Magical Life, Magic Barclay explains why supporting your lymphatic system is so important — and why movement doesn't have to mean going to the gym, running, or even walking.

Whether you're highly active, have limited mobility, or use a wheelchair, there are often simple movements you can incorporate within your own capacity.

The full episode also explores chronic illness, surviving cancer, autoimmune conditions, lymphoedema, lipoedema, lipolymphoedema, body systems, and the importance of understanding your health from a whole-body perspective.

Your movement doesn't have to look like someone else's. Every little bit can count.

You don't have to follow everyone else's path. Sometimes being the black sheep is a good thing🐑.

What if the advice everyone is following isn't necessarily the right advice for you?

In this episode of The Wisdom Movers Podcast, Magic Barclay talks about why questioning what we're told, pushing boundaries and thinking for ourselves can be so important — especially when it comes to our health.

What works for one person won't necessarily work for everyone. Rather than blindly following the latest advice or trend, sometimes we need to ask questions, explore different perspectives and discover what actually works for our individual body and circumstances.

The conversation also explores PNEI, childhood trauma, unhealthy relationships, addiction, chronic illness, different forms of trauma, holistic health myths, and practical health tips.

Being the black sheep isn't always a bad thing. Sometimes it's how we discover a different way forward.

The conversation also explores PNEI, your relationship with yourself, self-care, health tips, and why you are so much more than a diagnosis.

Sometimes living with chronic illness takes superhero strength — but you don't have to be defined by your illness.

Magic also discusses PNEI, the mind-body connection, childhood experiences, relationships, self-care, and practical health routines.
