What a CRAZY week it has been! 🫣
We have two announcements to make — and while one is definitely more exciting than the other, we feel you all deserve to know what’s going on behind the scenes.

On the 2nd of October, through absolutely no fault of our own, our settlement fell through. We have worked incredibly hard with the buyer from August to October to get to this point, and unfortunately, we have been left dealing with the consequences of others lack of planning and preparation.

We completely understand that things can go wrong — that’s life. What is incredibly frustrating is being given no warning, no opportunity to prepare, no common courtesy and then of course being left to pick up the pieces. 💔

We have so many beauty bookings due to opening up availability and currently not enough Therapists available to service them, and we simply weren’t given the opportunity to prepare for the situation we have suddenly found ourselves in.

Please be assured actions were put into place immediately & we are doing everything we possibly can to get things sorted as quickly as possible. We ask that you please bear with us whilst we find our feet & know that we are doing everything in our power to minimise the impact on our beauty clients. A heartfelt thank you to our clients this week that have already shown their support & been so understanding, it makes a world of difference. 🙏🤍

Our gorgeous Paige is BACK! 👶🏼💕
After her maternity leave, Paige is easing her way back into a few shifts a week — and we could not be more excited to have her with us again! We already know so many of you will be welcoming her back with open arms. 🫶🏼

Last week was our girl Preya’s final week with Silk. We want to thank this incredible Therapist & beautiful human for everything over the past 12 months. 🙏 Preya was only meant to be with us for one month to help us transition & re-hire after our previous manager resigned. However she fell in love with Silk & our beautiful community of people & we fell in-love with her. ☀️ Although only with us for 12 months she made a big impact & formed a lot of real connections. We will be forever grateful & wish Preya a beautiful journey ahead. ❤️

Something our tribe will be pleased to hear is with new owner coming on board we have been able to really open up the schedule to allow for a higher number of beauty bookings & more flexible appointment times. No more being put on a waitlist or having to pre-book weeks in advance. 💃🌺❤️

We have all been very busy in the background working towards a smooth transition both the team on the floor & myself behind the scenes. We want to keep our tribe updated & connected as we navigate this last week & have a beautiful message from the new owner Linsey to share with you. 🤍

“I’m incredibly excited and proud to share that I have recently purchased the business from Kirsty, who has dedicated an incredible 16 years of hard work, passion and care to building such a loyal customer base here in the Redlands.

Taking over a business with a strong history and such wonderful clients is something I feel truly honoured to be part of. I’d also like to wish Kristy and her family every happiness for this next chapter. 🤍

My approach to beauty is very much aligned with what has already been created here — holistic, authentic, personal and centred around genuinely caring for people. Connection and community are at the heart of who I am, both personally and in business, and I’m so excited to continue building on the relationships that have already been formed.

A New Chapter for Silk Studio
We are so excited to share the details of the new owner of Silk Studio. Linsey is a Beauty Therapist with over 20 years of experience and a devoted mum of four. Since 2021, Linsey has owned & operated a renowned beauty salon in Wynnum and is excited to now take over Silk Studio aswell & continue to grow her love of the industry & business.

Linsey will officially be taking over Silk Studio from October 1st and is committed to providing the same high standard of care, quality and value that our clients have come to know and love.

Over the years, my team have always expressed how much they genuinely enjoy our clients and what a wonderfully kind and supportive group they are — something I can personally vouch for. We still have clients today who originally saw me as their therapist all those years ago, and that loyalty and connection is something I will always be incredibly grateful for.

At a time when being able to truly love what you do, surrounded by a wonderful tribe of people, is something rare and incredibly valuable, I feel very confident that Linsey will be welcomed with the same warmth you have shown us time and time again.❤️

Dear Silk Family,

First and foremost, I want to thank each and every one of you for making my days at Silk so special and fulfilling. Over the last year, I have shared so many laughs and conversations.

You have all been a gentle reminder of why I fell in love with this industry all those years ago. It has been more than just coming to work each day — it has been the people, the connections that made my time at Silk so meaningful.

To Kristy and Athena, a very big thank you for all your support, patience and encouragement over the last year. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to have been part of the Silk family and for everything I have experienced along the way.

I also had the pleasure of briefly meeting, the soon to be new owner of Silk. Of all the many people who had shown interest in Silk, I truly feel that she is someone who will be a wonderful match for the clinic and its clientele. Even in our short interaction, her professionalism, warm personality and lovely demeanour really stood out to me. I could immediately see how naturally she would complement the space and the beautiful community that has been built here. I sincerely wish her all the very best as she begins this new chapter.

With a very heavy heart, my journey at Silk has now come to an end. Sometimes life has a way of throwing unexpected things our way, and right now I have some personal things that need my attention. As difficult as it is to say goodbye, I know that sometimes we have to take a step back and focus on what life is asking of us.

I hope I have left a little piece of myself with each of you, just as you have all left a little piece of yourselves with me. ❤️

And of course, I hope all the skin and body advice I have given you over the last year is strictly followed through! 😂 Just kidding!

I genuinely wish each and every one of you nothing but happiness and beautiful skin journeys ahead. 😊

As many of our beautiful clients know, two years ago my family and I made the life-changing decision to relocate overseas. We have completely fallen in love with Fiji and are now in the process of building our own beautiful long-stay retreat in the jungle of the Coral Coast. 🌴☀️

With so many exciting changes ahead, we have had the salon up for sale for some time. When our gorgeous Preya recently gave us her notice of resignation, we took a moment to reflect on the past 16 years and realised that, while we could re-hire and continue on, our hearts are telling us that it’s time for us to take the next step and begin a new chapter.

We are very excited to announce that we have an incredible BeautyTherapist & entrepreneur taking over the reins very shortly. We are equally excited to share all the details with you in the coming days.

Most importantly, we want to take this opportunity to say the biggest thank you to each and every one of our incredible clients. For 16 wonderful years, you have trusted us, supported us, laughed with us, shared stories with us and allowed us to be part of so many special moments in your lives. Your loyalty and friendship have meant more to us than we could ever put into words, and we will always be incredibly grateful for the beautiful community we have created together & for the two beautiful ladies that have been at the heart of Silk, Athena & Preya. 🙏
