The right piece of equipment can be the difference between a task you dread and one you barely think about.
Our Occupational Therapists can help you seek practical aids and equipment to help with real life activities. A shower stool. A modified utensil. A rail in the right spot. Something that makes getting in and out of bed safer.
We will help you find equipment that actually helps you do the things that matter, then making sure it suits your home, your body and your routine.
If everyday tasks have become harder than they should be, our OTs can help you find what works. DM us or refer via prohealthep.com.au/referrals/

A fall can change everything for an older person — and they're far more common than people realise. At least one in three Australians aged 65 and over fall every year, and falls are the leading cause of injury-related hospitalisation in this age group.
The reassuring news is that falls are not simply a part of getting older — and exercise is one of the most effective ways to prevent them.
The key is balance training, done regularly. Walking or strength work alone don't do the job on their own; programs that genuinely challenge balance, of at least two hours a week, are what reduce falls.
If you or someone you love is becoming less steady, it's worth acting before a fall happens. Our exercise physiologists can help. Book via the link in our bio.

Leaking when you laugh, cough, sneeze or exercise is common — but common doesn't mean you have to live with it.
Around 4 in 10 women over 65 experience some form of incontinence, and it's roughly twice as common in women as in men, largely due to pregnancy, childbirth and menopause. (Source: womenshealth.gov.) So many women quietly accept it as normal. It isn't, and it's very treatable.
The encouraging part: the right pelvic floor and exercise program can prevent, manage and in many cases resolve it. The first step is understanding which type you have — stress, urge or mixed — because that shapes the approach.
Our female exercise physiologists work with this every day. If it's something you're dealing with, come and see one of our team. DM us for more info ☀️

Getting back to work after an injury, illness or a period of poor health is rarely as simple as just turning up.
Our Occupational Therapist’s look at the real demands of your role and your day, then help bridge the gap — whether that's building up the tasks you need to manage, adjusting how something is done, or working out what support would make the return sustainable rather than a setback.
The goal isn't just to get you back. It's to help you stay there, doing the work in a way that holds up.
If you or someone you support is navigating a return to work, we can help. DM us or refer via prohealthep.com.au/referrals/

High blood pressure is sometimes called the 'silent killer' — it often has no symptoms, but it's a major risk factor for heart disease, stroke and kidney disease.
Here's a number worth knowing: lowering your systolic blood pressure (the top number) by just 5 points is linked to a 14% drop in deaths from stroke and a 9% drop in deaths from coronary heart disease.
Regular aerobic exercise is recommended as a first-line way to bring blood pressure down, and it works whether or not you're on medication. Strength work adds further benefit.
If you've been told your blood pressure is creeping up, exercise is a powerful place to start. Our exercise physiologists can build a plan that's safe for you. Book via the link in our bio 💪

August is Tradies National Health Month — a good reminder that the bodies we rely on for work need looking after too.
If your joints ache after a day on the tools, you're not alone. Arthritis is one of the most common reasons people put up with ongoing joint pain, and the usual advice is to rest and reach for anti-inflammatories.
Here's something worth knowing: exercise can relieve arthritis symptoms as effectively as pain medication, with fewer side effects. The right strength and movement work keeps the muscles around a joint strong, eases stiffness, and helps you keep doing your job without it costing you later. If sore joints are part of your working life, an accredited exercise physiologist can build a plan that fits around it. Book online via the link in our bio, or call us on 07 3203 7913.

Meet Helen, who's been training with our EP Mikaela💪
When she first came in, Helen was limited by plantar fasciitis pain which was impacting her day to day living and wanted help to manage her osteoporosis.
A few months of consistent, individualised sessions delivered through both home based exercise and clinical reformer Pilates, Helen is now able to tolerate greater loads of exercise and her foot pain has resolved. She has been able to achieve a massive goal of bike riding through New Zealand on a 270km ride across 5 days, is feeling stronger and most importantly, exercise has also helped Helen enjoy movement and return to doing the things in life that make her happy.
Progress like this doesn't come from a generic program. It comes from meeting you where you are and building from there.
