I think sometimes we get so caught up in everyday life that we forget to appreciate what’s right on our doorstep.

We spend so much time rushing around, working, making plans and thinking about what needs to be done next that we forget to simply enjoy where we are.

Only 30 minutes from Brisbane, we have some of the most beautiful countryside. Cedar Creek, the waterfalls, the winding roads through Mount Glorious, the mountains, the wildlife and the peacefulness of country living.

Since moving our day spa home to Cedar Creek, I’ve really started to appreciate the little things.

Watching the ducks on our lake, listening to the birds in the morning, seeing the wallabies wander through the property or simply sitting outside enjoying the mountain views.

It’s funny how we often think we need to travel somewhere far away to escape everyday life, when sometimes everything we need is so close to home.

Whether it’s a drive through the mountains, a walk to the waterfalls, a weekend away, or making a little getaway out of attending a wedding in the area, there are so many reasons to explore our beautiful part of the world.

I’ve spent so many years encouraging others to make time for themselves, and now I’m learning to take a little more of my own advice.

Life doesn’t always have to be busy. Not every moment needs to be filled with something productive.

Sometimes it’s enough to sit, listen to the birds, watch the world go by and appreciate the simple things.

And I think we could all do with a little more of that. 💚
