Patient consented to the use of these images for educational purposes.

Before and after a single collagen stimulating injectable treatment to the mid and lower face.

The after photos were taken 3 months after treatment, showing changes in the cheeks, jawline and jowl area as collagen stimulation developed over time.

This is one patient’s individual outcome and does not necessarily reflect what another person may experience. Suitability, risks, benefits, limitations and alternatives should be discussed during an individual consultation.

Good morning ☀️

There is beauty everywhere, but sometimes we are moving too fast to notice it.

In people. In ordinary moments. In the places we pass every day.

The more we pay attention, the more there seems to be.

Your face communicates before you say a word.

Facial structure, expression, movement and proportions can all influence how we are perceived. That does not mean anything needs to be changed.

If there is something you would like to address, the first step should be understanding what is contributing to the concern.

For me, cosmetic medicine should start with assessment, not a procedure.

Any plan should consider your anatomy, natural expression, goals, risks, benefits, limitations and alternatives.

Sometimes treatment may be appropriate. Sometimes doing less, or nothing at all, is the better choice.

Trends come and go, but facial anatomy does not.

That’s why the foundation of facial assessment should always be anatomy: bone structure, soft tissue, muscle activity, proportions and the way each face changes with age.

A treatment plan should not be based on what is fashionable at the moment.

It should be based on the individual face in front of us.

Diagnosis before treatment.

If you work outdoors, you are at higher risk of developing skin cancer because of cumulative UV exposure.

The basics that really matter:

• broad-brim hat
• UV-protective sunglasses
• long sleeves
• long pants where practical
• SPF 50+ broad-spectrum sunscreen, reapplied as directed
• shade whenever possible

No single measure gives complete protection, which is why combining them matters.

And remember: sun protection reduces risk, but it does not remove it completely. Knowing your skin and paying attention to new or changing spots is still important.

Prevention is better than surgery.

Your skin can change throughout the month, and it isn’t always because your skincare has stopped working.

Hormonal fluctuations can influence oil production, hydration, sensitivity, inflammation, barrier function and recovery. That is why some days the skin may feel calmer and more hydrated, while at other times it may feel drier, more reactive or more prone to breakouts.

These changes can also become more noticeable during perimenopause and after menopause, when hormonal shifts may affect collagen, elasticity, pigmentation, dryness and overall skin resilience.

The important point is that skin should be assessed in context.

Age, hormonal stage, anatomy, lifestyle, skin quality and individual concerns can all influence what the skin may need.

There is no single solution that suits everyone or every stage.

Individual assessment comes first.

There is still a tendency to think that taking care of your skin is just vanity.

But often, it is simply part of taking care of yourself.

Starting earlier can help with prevention, skin health and maintaining good habits over time.

And if you didn’t start early, that doesn’t mean it’s too late.

What matters is starting with the right advice for your skin, your age and your individual needs.
