RESPONSE AFTER VOICEMAIL WAS LEFT YESTERDAY

I’ve noticed lately Groomers are being criticised for refusing doodle crossbreeds, and I need to be clear about why I no longer take anymore on.

After 20 years grooming, 98% of doodles that has come through my salon has been medicated for anxiety, are hyper and are a risk to groom. My last two serious bites were from oodles and my shoulder injured. That’s not bias — that’s experience and safety.

On top of that, many previous doodle owners have told me they would never choose this breed again after living with the coat, anxiety, and grooming realities.

In my opinion majority of these dogs are not bred for coat type or stable temperament, and I can no longer support breeding that ignores both.

Every professional groomer has the right to decide what they will and won’t groom. That choice is based on safety, ethics, and sustainability — and it’s no one else’s business.

Saying no doesn’t make you unprofessional, lazy or precious.
It means you know your limits and respect them.

Doodles are cute.
Irish Terriers are iconic.
If you want a dog who looks at you like, “Let’s start trouble,” go Irish every time.
