Rakia, Rakija or Raki (/ˈrɑːkiə, ˈræ-, rəˈkiːə/), is the collective term for fruit spirits (or fruit brandy) popular in the Balkans. The alcohol content of rakia is normally 40% ABV, but home-produced rakia can be stronger (typically 50%) 😝

Haircut day! I love a fresh cut and visiting Kristy at Studio Milè is a super relaxing experience for me, and it’s also an opportunity to top up her decanter with delicious Rakia.

I make Rakia every year from imperfect fruit because not every plum is destined for eating but they all have greatness within!

Kristy’s father, the iconic Milè, has provided essential feedback as someone who has tried way more of this beverage than me. His in-depth analysis “it’s good” tells me everything I need to know!
