What’s trending in the studio this week? 🤎
Soft brown lashes.
Wispy texture.
Natural styling.
Think fluffy lash lines, soft dimension, and effortless sets that enhance your features without looking overdone.
Natural doesn’t have to mean boring. ✨
PS, this is a look I teach in beginners class 💕☺️
I don’t believe in only teaching classic, hybrid, and volume in a beginner course.
Back when we were learning, creating trend looks meant making every single fan by hand. Today, premades have made volume techniques far more accessible, so why are some students still leaving beginner courses only knowing the basics?
I love watching the confidence build over the first few days. Classic? Nailed it. Hybrid? Easy. Premade volume? They’ve got it. By day three, they’re convinced they can do this.
Then day four arrives.
Out come the M curls. The wet looks. The wispy sets. The trend techniques. The sets that don’t make sense when you’re halfway through them.
Every single time, my students look at me like I’ve completely lost my mind.
They can’t see the vision. They think the mapping looks weird. They think the curls look wrong. They think I’ve finally pushed them too far.
Then they finish the set.
And suddenly the same student who was doubting themselves an hour ago is staring at their work thinking, “I actually did that.”
That’s my favourite part of teaching.
Not keeping the hard stuff for another course. Not saving trend looks for an “advanced” class.
Challenging beginners enough that they realise they’re capable of more than they thought.
Miss Caitlin completed this half set today. Proud of you, I don’t think you understand the level of difficulty of this set yet.
Chiara’s final day in the studio today, and it was all about refining the details. 🤍
We focused heavily on handmade techniques and, more importantly, creating truly customised sets that suit the client sitting in front of us.
Originally, I had a strip-lash-inspired look in mind, but after assessing our client’s features and overall style, we decided to pivot. Instead, we created a soft handmade wet and wispy set using brown lashes — one of the biggest trends right now. The result was lightweight, flattering, and perfectly suited to her.
A big part of becoming a great lash artist is learning that the plan doesn’t always stay the plan. Sometimes the best sets come from adapting your styling to the individual client rather than forcing a trend.
We also spent time working on content creation, experimenting with different angles, shots, and editing techniques to help Chiara create photos that match her own aesthetic (which, if you know Chiara, is definitely pink 🌸).
Such a fun way to finish off her training journey with us. ✨
A little peek behind the scenes of what a week at Gold Lash Lounge looks like ✨
Monday, Thursday and Friday were filled with clients, fresh sets and catch-ups.
Tuesday and Wednesday were dedicated to beginner training.
Saturday was spent doing all the things nobody sees—deep cleaning the studio, resetting everything for the week ahead, packing kits and products for our online students, and getting everything ready for the girls joining us next week.
We have two new students starting their lash journey next week and we’re so excited to show you what they get up to.
And if you think the week is over... not quite. We’re back again tomorrow for another student training day. 💛
Busy weeks, tired feet, lots of RedBull , lots of lashes, and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

One thing that sets our training apart from a lot of other courses is that we don’t just stop at the basics. One of our training days is dedicated to trend styling — and because trends are always changing, the looks we teach evolve too. ✨
Today for the first time, after seeing how quickly Chiara’s confidence and technique have progressed, I decided she was ready to switch things up and try something more advanced. On only her THIRD set, we created a half set using wet lash styling, trend curls like M curl, and blending techniques where we combine multiple curls throughout the set to create a softer, more seamless result. 🤍
We focus heavily on combining currently trending natural styling techniques with more advanced methods so students learn how to customise sets instead of creating the same look on every client.
Wet look styling is definitely not an easy technique for beginners. It requires control, precision, direction and understanding layering — so the fact that she achieved this on her third set is honestly a huge achievement. So proud of her progress already 👏
Second set today ✨
From prep to placement to final result — this is exactly how confidence gets built. Every set teaches you something new, and today was all about improving isolation, adhesive control, directions, and getting comfortable with the process step by step 🤍
Watching students go from nervous to focused is my favourite part.
