Where to even begin!

There has been a lot of conversation around these awards and the wedding industry lately, but I want to say something from my heart…

I am SO proud of this award. Every single year.

Because these awards are voted for by our brides.
Real brides. Real experiences. Real people who have trusted me with one of the most important days of their lives.

I don’t get here without you.

Every nomination, every vote, every beautiful message, every recommendation to your friends and family YOU are the reason Callie Carr Hair is standing here as a finalist. ❤️

So to every single bride who has ever sat in my chair, trusted me with your hair, recommended me, tagged me, shared my work, voted for me or simply told someone about my business…

You have no idea what it means to me.

I am ridiculously workdriven. 😂
Some might even say I’m married to my job… and honestly, they’re probably not wrong. 😂

I give up nearly all of my weekends to do what I love.

I miss family events.
I miss friends’ weddings.
I miss birthdays.
I miss sunny afternoons catching up over coffee.
I miss things that most people get to say yes to because I’m usually working.

And I could keep going…

But the truth is I genuinely LOVE what I do.

I have built a business that I dreamed about.
I have created something that is mine.
And I get to wake up and do something that makes me ridiculously happy.

And now, more than ever, I want my beautiful little girl Pippa to grow up watching her mumma chase her dreams. ❤️

I want her to see that you can work hard.
You can believe in yourself.
You can start with a dream and turn it into something real.
You can fall down, get back up and keep showing up.
And you can be a mum, have a family and still chase the things that light your soul on fire.

I want her to know she can dream of absolutely anything. ✨

And maybe one day she’ll look back and say, My mum really bloody went for it I didn’t bother what people said 🥹❤️

This journey hasn’t happened overnight.

In 2022, I was Runner Up in Western Australia.

Then, for the past three years, I have taken out #1 Bridal Hair Stylist in WA 🥇, which then put me in the position to become Runner Up in Australia.

And the process behind these awards is something I’m genuinely proud of.

It’s not simply about getting a pretty badge.

There is an audit of your business for the Australian wedding awards, looking at how you operate, how you communicate with your brides, your website, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, how you answer enquiries, how you present your business and so much more.

And when you get that recognition, it’s like someone saying:

Hey… we see how bloody hard you’re working. You’re doing a great job. Keep going.” 🙌❤️

And sometimes, as a business owner, you really need to hear that.

Do I need to be #1?

No.

Of course I would absolutely bloody love it 😂🥇 because I’m competitive and I’m determined but that’s not ultimately what this is about for me.

It’s about continuing to show up.

For my brides.
For my business.
For my family.
For myself.

And continuing to become the best version of Callie I can possibly be.

There are SO many incredible hairstylists and Makeup Artist businesses in this industry who deserve recognition. I genuinely believe that and I think they all deserve an award. ❤️

But today, I’m allowing myself to stop for a moment, look at what I’ve built and say…
