One thing Somaya included was her cold sore breakout during healing.
As discussed during her consultation, lip tattooing can trigger a cold sore outbreak in people who carry the herpes simplex virus (HSV), even if they haven’t had one in a long time. This is a known risk due to the trauma to the lips during the procedure.

For this reason, we recommend that anyone with a history of cold sores speaks with their GP or pharmacist before their appointment about whether preventative antiviral medication is appropriate for them.

Thankfully, Somaya’s healing continued as expected, and you can see her beautiful fully healed result at the end of the carousel. 🤍
