A few friends I’ve managed to catch up with so far! I have to admit to feeling strange being here solo & heading into events without a hand to hold. But it’s been incredible actually & expo reminds me why I love this industry SO much.

After poking my nose into so many peoples business, I sat in on two “lectures”. Rae Morris shared some incredible tips on makeup application for us older (ahem) women which I will share in my next newsletter. Then the incredible Isabella Loneragan | Skin Therapist | Bowral & Sydney showed us how to lead with touch therapies. I didn’t think there was another massage course for me … BUT there is & I’ll be going to see her early next year to learn something extra special for my clients!! I’m super excited to learn from the best 🥰

I have so many photos and videos from yesterday & no idea how to make reels or cool videos so please just accept this very Gen X way of showing photos one by one & let’s all be glad I remembered to at least take some!!!

It’s been all systems go here for the past few months, making sure I’m trained up for all my new Sothys treatments (and there will be more coming!) Leah has been at the end of the phone for all my stupid questions & turned up in person to support me through the whole process.

It’s been a very different journey to a lot of other ranges who have “dumped & run”.

Some of the feedback from models has been incredible & the results that have occurred from what is traditionally seen as a “spa range” have really blown me away.

25 years ago, I had Sothys in my first salon & it feels a little surreal to be supported by them in my studio now 🥰

July was fun!! Hard, but fun 🤩 Is that even a thing?!

Every week I’ve been doing Sothys Australia training in order to bring the best & most effective treatments into the studio. Leah (my BDM) shows me what a fantastic BDM should be 🥰

The annual industry awards were announced & I’m so fortunate to be a finalist in a huge category where the other clinics are totally superior to me!! Just a lil country chick, heading to the big smoke to have her arse kicked 🥰🤣

I had a podcast with Home Of Aesthetics and spoke about the importance of building (and maintaining) your reputation. It was fun & even though I was so far away from the camera that I looked like pin-head guy from Beetlejuice, I think we had a great conversation.

Finally finished my workroom curtains & started home renos….then very quickly wished I hadn’t.

Traditionally the quietest month of the year (followed immediately by the second quietest month of the year!!) I have a TONNE of things happening in August that I can’t wait to share with you ❤️❤️❤️

I’ve genuinely enjoyed seeing colleagues all over the world share their “unpopular” opinions.

Some make me laugh, others make me ask more questions - both reactions are fine 😊

At the end of the day, I hope you find a facialist who you’re totally comfortable with & who gives you great advice….backed by truth & science….and doesn’t just want to sell you the “next big thing”.

There’s a sock for every shoe, as they say….so if you think I may be the shoe for you….get in touch & tell me YOUR unpopular opinion 🤗
