One of the biggest lies about entrepreneurship?
People assume revenue equals wealth.
They see the awards.
The growth.
The media.
The big milestones.
What they don’t see...
The debt.
The sleepless nights.
The years of reinvesting every dollar back into the business.
Scaling isn’t about getting rich overnight.
For most founders, it’s choosing to delay today’s comfort so you can build something much bigger tomorrow.
Success isn’t measured by how much money comes in.
It’s measured by what you’re willing to sacrifice to create something that lasts.

A viral post can get you attention.
But attention doesn’t automatically pay the bills.
You could get 1,000 likes on a trend that has nothing to do with your business…
While the post with 20 likes quietly brings in four paying customers.
Which one actually worked?
This is where business owners can get caught chasing the wrong metrics.
Views feel exciting.
Likes look impressive.
Virality feels like success.
But if your goal is to grow a business, your content needs to do more than get attention.
It needs to build trust, attract the right people, and ultimately move them towards buying.
So before copying another viral account, ask yourself:
What am I actually chasing, identity, money, or virality?
When Nina Youé, founder of Flicker, landed her first paying client, something clicked.
Someone was actually willing to pay her for something she would’ve happily done in her spare time.
But building Flicker meant doing something that felt far more uncomfortable: becoming the face of the brand.
Showing up on camera. Hearing her own voice back. Questioning how she looked. Wondering what people would think.
Because building a personal brand can feel incredibly vulnerable.
But Nina learnt that people aren’t looking for perfection.
They want the person behind the business. The wins, the challenges, the lessons and the moments that make you human.
Because people don’t just buy into what you do.
They buy into who you are.

What life gets to look like when you decide to not work 24/7 and infuse some fun back into it 💁♀️

If you’ve ever felt like you’re outgrowing the people around you…
You’re not alone.
Building something ambitious can be lonely.
The more you grow, the less relatable your life becomes to the people who knew the old version of you. Some will cheer you on. Others will question your decisions or tell you to play it safe.
Don’t mistake their discomfort for your direction.
Keep building.
Keep believing.
And keep surrounding yourself with people who expand your vision instead of shrinking it.

Cup is full and gratitude is overflowing to see what we have overcome, created and achieved together over the years 🥹
Somehow being 19 years in to this journey, only now does it truly feel like we are actually getting started.
This is proof that there are so many different seasons in business.
Not all of them will feel like you’re winning, but when you look back on the whole journey you’ll realise that they were the chapters building you to become a winner in the long run 🤍

Choose your life partner carefully.
Because the wrong person won’t just make entrepreneurship harder…
They can make you question whether your dream was worth chasing in the first place.
Building a business already comes with enough uncertainty.
You’re taking risks.
You’re creating something from nothing.
You’re backing a vision other people can’t see yet.
The last thing you need is to come home to someone planting even more doubt in your head.
They don’t have to understand every part of your business.
But they should believe in you.
Sometimes support looks like being your biggest cheerleader.
Sometimes it’s simply saying:
“You’ve got this. Let’s do it.”
Find someone who’s willing to be just as delusional about your potential as you are. 🤍

Marcia’s story is proof that where you start doesn’t have to determine where you finish.
She grew up in severe poverty in the mountains of Peru, sleeping on a dirt floor.
Even when she eventually had a bed, her mother would still find her sleeping on the floor.
Why?
Because for the first five years of her life, Marcia had formed an identity around being the poor girl who belonged on the floor.
And that’s the thing about identity…
We will unconsciously behave in ways that reinforce who we believe we are.
You can achieve the money, recognition and success you’ve always wanted, but if you haven’t done the internal work along the way, you may reach the top only to realise you’ve been climbing the wrong mountain.
Because external success without internal fulfilment?
That might just be the ultimate failure.
