The stack is not the program.

And this is an important distinction.

A supplement can support appetite. Another may help with food noise. Others may have a role in nutritional support, energy or maintaining adequate intake during weight loss.

But putting several good supplements together doesn’t automatically create a good weight-management program.

There still needs to be a strategy behind them.

What are we trying to achieve?
Why is this being used?
When does it change?
And what happens after the weight comes off?

That’s where the real work is.

Nutrition. Active weight loss. Stabilisation. Maintenance. And targeted support that changes as the goal changes
Over the past few months, I’ve been bringing these pieces together into the next evolution of weight management at The Metabolic Studio.

The Metabolic Method.

I’ll be sharing more about that soon.
For now, remember this:

You don’t build a weight-management program around supplements.

You build the supplements around the program.

Hormones get blamed for a lot.
Sometimes fairly. Sometimes… not so much.

But pretending they’re irrelevant isn’t particularly helpful either.

Through perimenopause and menopause, hormonal changes can influence how your body responds — including changes in weight and body composition, skin, and how you feel in your body.

That doesn’t mean every change is hormonal. And it certainly doesn’t mean we throw our hands in the air and blame menopause.

It means the approach that worked beautifully at 30 may need adjusting at 45, 50 or 60.

Change isn’t an excuse. It’s information.

And the more we understand the body we have now, the better we can support it.

I want The Metabolic Studio to grow.
But I’ve realised I don’t actually want a big clinic.

There are probably easier ways to do this. More people. Shorter appointments. Group programs. More automation.

But after all these years, I still genuinely enjoy sitting across from one person, hearing their story and understanding what they’re actually trying to achieve.

Because it’s rarely just about a number on the scales or something they see in the mirror.

When you work one-to-one, you get to know the person behind it. You remember where they were last time. You notice when something has changed. And sometimes the conversation we have ends up being just as important as whatever brought them through the door in the first place.

It may not be the most scalable way to run a business.
I’m okay with that.

I want the studio to grow. I just don’t want it to grow away from the reason I enjoy doing this.

So whatever The Metabolic Studio becomes next, one thing I’d really like to keep is this:

One person at a time.

Your weight may not have changed much but suddenly your waistline has…

For many women, this is one of the frustrating changes that can happen through the menopause transition.

As oestrogen declines, where we tend to store body fat can change, with a greater shift toward the abdomen and visceral fat.
But menopause isn’t responsible for everything. Ageing, muscle mass, movement, sleep and nutrition are all part of the picture too.

That’s why simply trying to eat less isn’t always the most useful response.

The hormonal landscape has changed.

Your approach may need to change with it.

Your lymphatic system doesn’t have a heart doing the pumping for it. Clever little system… slightly high maintenance.

Unlike blood circulation, lymph relies on movement, muscle contraction and breathing to keep fluid moving. When that movement slows, fluid can hang around — leaving you feeling puffy, heavy or swollen.

Our Lymphatic Therapy uses rhythmic, sequential compression across the legs and abdomen to encourage lymphatic flow, support circulation and help reduce fluid build-up.
Sometimes your system just needs a little help getting things moving.

Your goals change. Your supplement stack should too.

During active weight loss, the priorities may be appetite, food noise and nutritional support.

But once the weight is off, the job changes.

Stabilisation becomes about helping the body transition out of active loss, while maintenance shifts the focus again — towards strength, metabolic health and keeping the result long term.

That’s why I don’t believe a supplement stack should simply be a collection of products you stay on indefinitely.

Different phases. Different needs. A smarter approach.

At The Metabolic Studio, I’m continuing to develop weight-management programs around this principle — targeted support, used with purpose, alongside structured nutrition and one-to-one care.

Because losing weight is one part of the conversation.

Samantha 😘

Everyone talks about losing the weight.

I don’t think we talk nearly enough about what happens when you’ve lost it.

Because reaching your goal isn’t the end of weight management.
It’s learning how to eat when you’re no longer dieting.

How to navigate weekends, holidays and real life.

How to recognise normal fluctuations without thinking you’ve failed.

And how to build a way of eating that you can actually live with.
Losing weight takes commitment.

Learning how to stay there deserves just as much attention.

That’s why, for me, maintenance was never an afterthought.

It was always part of the plan.

There’s something I’ve been working on behind the studio for quite a while now.

I’m not ready to share exactly what it is yet, but I can tell you that it has challenged me.

I’ve researched endlessly. Made phone calls. Had conversations. Followed leads that looked incredibly promising, only to discover they weren’t going to work. I’ve changed direction more than once.

And there have definitely been days when I’ve thought, surely this shouldn’t be this difficult.

I haven’t figured it out yet.

But somewhere in all of that frustration, I realised there’s a very big difference between saying:

“I haven’t figured it out.” and “I can’t figure it out.”

One closes the door. The other leaves room for another conversation, another idea or a completely different way of approaching the problem.

I’ve watched clients go through their own version of this with weight loss for years.

Something that worked brilliantly before suddenly doesn’t. The scales stop moving. Life changes. Your body changes. And it’s very easy to think you’ve failed or that you simply need to try harder.

Sometimes neither is true.
Sometimes you need to stop, reassess and find a different way forward.

I’m learning that persistence isn’t about stubbornly doing the same thing until it works.

It’s being willing to change direction without giving up on where you’re trying to go.

So no, I haven’t figured this one out yet.

But I will keep asking questions, learning and looking.

And perhaps if you’re in the middle of something difficult yourself right now, that’s worth remembering too.

Not having the answer yet doesn’t mean there isn’t one.

Samantha 😘

Red LED has genuine benefits for the skin — so why don’t I use it immediately after skin needling?

Because with needling, the controlled injury is intentional.
That micro-injury triggers a natural wound-healing response.

Some redness and inflammation afterwards isn’t something I automatically want to switch off — it’s part of the process we’ve deliberately initiated.

LED can influence that inflammatory and repair response, which can be useful in many situations. I simply don’t believe every beneficial treatment needs to be used at every stage.

Sometimes good clinical treatment is also knowing when not to intervene.

Why choose one when your skin could benefit from both?

Fractional Peels combine skin needling with a professionally selected PCA peel to target more than one skin concern in a single considered treatment.
