Hyaluronic acid is the ingredient everyone's been told to look for, and on a face it earns that.
On a heel it doesn't.
HA is a humectant that holds water at the surface, and the surface of a heel is the thickest skin on your body. It mostly never gets past it.
Urea is a tiny molecule by comparison. Hyaluronic acid is thousands of times bigger.
That size difference is the whole story: urea gets into the layer that's actually dry, and once it's there it does two jobs, holds water, and breaks down skin that's already hardened.
It's why podiatrists reach for one and not the other.
Anyone else been putting their face serum on their feet?

There's a particular kind of tired where the last thing you'll do is stand in a bathroom for a skincare routine. Fair enough.
The whole thing is a minute. Rinse and dry, cream on damp skin starting at the heel, socks straight over the top.
Damp skin is the part that matters most. Applied to dry skin, a good deal of it just sits on the surface.
And to be straight about it, a minute a night won't repair deep cracks on its own. What it does is stop you going backwards, which for most people is the harder half.
👉Save it for a night when you can't be bothered.
Filing works, which is the whole problem. You see the result immediately, so it feels productive.
But abrading built-up skin reads as damage, and your body rebuilds it thicker. That's why it's back in a fortnight, every time, no matter how diligent you've been.
Nobody tells you this, and then you find out. 😅

Your socks might be the problem ↓
People message us asking where to buy it locally, and the answer is usually simpler than they expect. 💛
You'll find Restorate at 523 Mt Dandenong Rd, Kilsyth, one of over a thousand Australian clinics stocking it since 2015.
If you'd rather buy from someone who can look at your feet first, our full stockist map is on our website.
A pea-sized amount is the instruction most people absorbed from hand cream, and it's about a fifth of what a heel needs.
Here's what actually works, measured on a 23.5cm foot: one pump straight onto the heel, then spread whatever's left over the rest of that foot. Same again on the other side. A third pump, split in two, does the tops.
Three pumps, both feet, fully covered.
Heel first matters more than the amount, it's the thickest skin on your body and it's the bit people under-do while they're busy covering everything evenly.
If you're on the tube rather than the pump, go by coverage: the whole sole, not just the split bit.
How many pumps are you on?

It's not oil doing the work in the spray.
Oils make a foot cream feel nice the second it goes on.
They sit on the surface, they feel rich, and they're the cheapest way to make something feel like it's working.
What they don't do is soften skin that's already hardened.
Turn the spray over and urea is the second ingredient. Not eighth, not down near the fragrance, second.
The rest is water, aloe, a touch of wild mint, and a long list of amino acids your skin used to make more of itself.
No grease, so it dries and your socks go straight over.
Suella put it better than we could 👇

Fair question. The honest answer is that it was never going to sort itself out.
Skin that's already thickened doesn't soften over a summer of sandals and hoping. It softens when something breaks down what's holding it together, and for most people that's a week or two of doing it properly, not a season.
Which is why now is better than December. Start in late September and it's sorted long before you actually want to wear them.
Nothing elaborate, either. Cream on damp skin, socks over the top, most nights. That's the whole routine.

Let's talk about the price, because it comes up.
An honest note first: you can't really compare our four products on cost per millilitre. They're different urea strengths doing different jobs, putting the 9% next to the 30% on price per mL is like comparing two medicines by the size of the tablet.
The only fair comparison is the two that are the same cream. The 100mL tube and the 500mL pump, both 9%.
100mL tube — $27.50, or 27.5c per mL
500mL pump — $49.50, or 9.9c per mL
So yes, the pump is better value. Bought as small tubes, 500mL would cost you $137.50.
But please don't choose on that alone.
👉The tube is the right one if: you're trying it for the first time and would rather not commit · you travel, because 100mL is exactly the airline cabin limit · you want one in your handbag and one at home.
👉The pump is the right one if: you already know it works · it lives on the bathroom shelf · you'd rather press a pump than squeeze a tube, which matters more than people think if your hands aren't what they were.
Buying the cheaper one per millilitre and then not using it isn't saving anything.
