BEING A MASSAGE JUDGE: Responsibility, Respect and a Passion for Our Profession 🌏🏆

Almost 30 years in massage, beauty and wellness, and I am still learning, growing and feeling inspired by this incredible profession. ❤️

My career has taken me from Beauty and Massage Spa Therapist to Spa Director, Remedial Massage Practitioner, Educator and Trainer, with opportunities to work across Australia, Vietnam, Thailand, the Dominican Republic, Japan, Argentina, Papua New Guinea, Fiji and beyond.

Returning to the Australian Massage Championships 2026 for my second year as a judge was a privilege, especially serving as Head Judge in the Face Massage category.

Surrounded by hundreds of passionate therapists from around the world, I was reminded of the extraordinary diversity of skills, cultures and treatment approaches within our profession.

Behind every competitor is something I deeply respect: the courage to step forward, demonstrate their skills and welcome professional feedback.

Being a judge is not about personal preference. It is about fairness, professional responsibility, careful observation and recognising the dedication behind every performance.

And judging is also an opportunity to learn.

Some techniques inspire us. Others challenge our thinking. Every experience helps us reflect, grow and continue developing our own unique professional approach.

As an educator, I believe we all have something valuable to share, and always something new to learn.

Congratulations to every competitor! Your courage, dedication and passion are what make our profession stronger.

Thank you to the organisers, fellow judges and international massage community for another inspiring experience.

After almost 30 years, I am still proud to be a student of this profession. ❤️

LE SPA MASSAGE ACADEMY
Where Career Begins and Comfort Never Ends. ❤️

I love my work as a remedial massage practitioner and educator.

My second year judging at the Australian Massage Championships left me inspired and grateful, with a little sadness too, a heartfelt wish for an event dedicated exclusively to remedial massage therapists, where we can share our knowledge, clinical assessment skills, treatment planning, personalised care and reassessment, alongside our practical experience.

A place to learn from one another, strengthen our clinical practice and grow together as a community.

I’m thankful for the connections I made and hopeful for the future of our profession.
