Binar Maali Basketball Club

🏀🇦🇺 6TH NATIONWIDE! 🇦🇺🏀

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR BINAR MAALI U14 BOYS! 🩵🖤🔥

Our boys have finished 6th in Australia at the Foot Locker U14 Club Championships, making them the highest-ranked boys team from Western Australia at the tournament! 👏🏽

After battling their way into the Top 8 from 24 teams, the boys continued to fight their way through the finals and finished the tournament ranked 6th across the entire country.

Just think about that for a moment.

6th in Australia. 🇦🇺

Last year, no WA boys team made it into the Top 8. This year, Binar Maali did more than make the Top 8. We finished 6th nationwide. 🩵🖤

From the Opening Ceremony, to the wins, the tough games, the Quarter Final, the huge win over Warwick Senators and everything in between, our boys represented Binar Maali, their families, Midland and Western Australia with pride.

To our players, coaches, families and everyone who supported the team throughout this incredible journey:

We are SO proud of you. ❤️‍🔥

This is more than a placing. It’s a moment that shows what is possible when you believe, work hard and back each other.

6TH NATIONWIDE.
HIGHEST-RANKED BOYS TEAM FROM WA.
BINAR MAALI. 🩵🖤

Congratulations boys. You’ve made history. 🏀🔥

Fresh off receiving the Most Improved Award at his AFL club, the Western Bulldogs, our Binar boy Arthur Jones randomly popped into the Binar office while he was in the area.

The timing couldn’t have been better, with our Under 14 Boys who are competing at the National Championships at the office preparing for their final game today.

In typical Arty style, it wasn’t long before he was straight out the back with the boys, having a shoot-around and spending some time with them.

It absolutely made their morning!

From being part of Binar himself as a young person, to now playing at the highest level and still making time for the next generation — moments like this are what Binar is all about.

You can’t be what you can’t see. 💙🖤

The Binar Way!

🏀🔥 WHAT A WIN! WHAT A TOURNAMENT! 🔥🏀

Our Binar Maali U14 Boys have done it again!

After reaching the Top 8 at the Foot Locker U14 Club Championships, the boys faced the Warwick Senators today in a battle to determine whether they would play off for 5th/6th or 7th/8th.

And they got the job done! 💪🏽

BINAR MAALI DEFEATED WARWICK SENATORS! 🩵🖤🔥

For those who have followed our WABL season, you’ll know this matchup has a little extra meaning. Warwick were our U14 Boys 1 opponents in the WABL Grand Final earlier this year, and they’ve been a team our boys have been chasing for some time.

Today, they finally got the win. 🙌🏽

And now, our boys will play for 5th & 6th place at Nationals! 🇦🇺🏀
This is an incredible achievement.

Last year, no WA team made it into the Top 8. This year, our Binar Maali U14 Boys have not only broken into the Top 8, but have battled their way through the tournament to earn a shot at finishing as high as 5th in Australia.

That deserves to be celebrated. 🩵🖤

TOMMY CHARLES LEGACY AWARD

Named in honour of Tommy Charles, Binar’s first captain - may he rest in peace. Tommy’s name and legacy will always hold a special place within the Binar community.

This award recognises someone who is growing into leadership through the way they carry themselves and show up for others. They may not be the loudest voice but they lead through their actions, do the right thing when no one is watching and earn the trust and respect of the people around them.

The Tommy Charles Legacy Award recognises character, responsibility and someone who leads by example - putting their teammates, their people and the Binar community alongside themselves.

Congratulations to the 2026 Tommy Charles Legacy Award recipient Steven Mogridge Boundry.

THANK YOU JAMES MURACE 🩵🖤

Volunteer of the Year

This award recognises an individual within our Binar Maali WABL program who has consistently given their time, energy and support to the Club without seeking recognition in return. It honours someone who can be relied upon, who steps in when something needs to be done, takes on the jobs that often go unseen, and is always willing to contribute wherever they are needed. Their commitment and willingness to put the Club and its people first has played an important part in the success of Binar Maali’s inaugural WABL season.
