Before you blame your cosmetic nurse for that bruise… let us show you what’s actually under your skin!
Your face has an incredibly rich blood supply, with a complex network of vessels sitting beneath the skin. When we perform a treatment, even with careful technique and a thorough understanding of facial anatomy, a needle can occasionally catch one of those tiny vessels.
The result? A bruise
Bruising is a recognised and generally temporary risk of treatments and it doesn’t automatically mean your nurse has done something wrong.
Because unfortunately, we can know our anatomy… but we can’t politely ask every tiny blood vessel to move out of the way.

• Structural support — changes through the mid-face can influence how folds and lines appear around the mouth
This is why facial ageing is complex and should be assessed as a whole, rather than focusing on one individual line.
