If you have noticed more hair in the brush since starting a GLP-1, you are not imagining it. The most likely explanation is telogen effluvium, a temporary shedding that follows rapid weight loss, and for most people it settles once things steady. Here is the plain version, and the signs it is worth a proper look. Complimentary consultations are available via the link in bio.

DHT gets blamed for hair loss more than any other hormone. The blame is only half right.

Pattern hair loss is about sensitivity, not supply. Some follicles are inherited more sensitive to DHT than others, and in those follicles the growing phase gets cut short. A hair that would normally grow for 3 to 6 years can drop to weeks or months. It comes back finer each time, until you start to see scalp where you used to see hair.

It affects men and women both, and it looks different in each. Around 40 per cent of women show signs by age 50, and up to half of men. Most women with pattern hair loss have completely normal hormone levels on a blood test, which is why chasing a number rarely answers the question.

What helps is a starting point. Something to compare against, so you know whether anything is changing at all.

Started a treatment and shedding more? Read this before you panic. A short early shed can be turnover as new hairs push out resting ones, and a fine fringe along the hairline is often the first sign. A baseline scan tells us whether it is turnover or something needing a different plan. Link in bio if you want it.

PRP and PRF both start with your own blood, so the question is not which is better, it is which suits your scalp. The difference comes down to how the blood is spun and how quickly the growth factors are released. Here is the plain language version. Suitability is always decided at consultation, after we measure. Complimentary consultations are available via the link in bio.
