RETIRING FROM HAIRDRESSING.
This is one of most real and raw posts I’ve ever done & for my wonderful clients it will come as a shock.
I’ve been battling chronic burnout since 2022 and I knew it back then. I gaslit myself, ignored it, pushed on and hoped that it would go away. Sure I had periods of being ok but every time it came back it would be a little worse. My anxiety started to amplify so I went to therapy and whilst it certainly helped me work through some stuff, I didn’t mention my suspected burnout & so I kept pushing. I tried to ease my work load, reduce my hours but that didn’t help so I kept pushing. I started feeling nauseous everyday before work but kept pushing. My anxiety crept into my days off and I kept pushing. My hands started shaking and cramping and I still kept pushing. I started sleeping in 2 hour intervals most nights and kept pushing. On Saturday morning I knew I had pushed too far and had ignored it for too long and something in me broke. I knew I was having a nervous breakdown. In that moment I finally yielded and realised I couldn’t push anymore and made the difficult decision to step away from hairdressing indefinitely. I thought that I was being strong by pushing through but the real strength I’ve realised is knowing when to walk away. What I was ignoring and pushing away was abandonment of self. I am in the process of messaging all my clients to cancel all bookings for this year and at this stage I’m not sure I will ever return to hairdressing. It’s an overwhelming task & I will get around to messaging you all. Hairdressing has been a huge part of my life for 35 years and it has been some of my best years. I’ve been there through marriage, loss, birth, divorce, engagements, breakups, love & laughter and I feel so honoured to have shared such intimacy with you all. I’m not sure what the future holds for me, but right now I just need to focus on my recovery and I know I will be ok.
Whilst I realise I’ve shared this publicly, replying to messages and texts is something I will get to on my schedule and when I am ready. Thank you. 🙏

It’s been a while, hello all.
After taking my time to work out what to do with my overbooked schedule I am increasing my prices by 20%-25%.
I’m currently booked out 4-5 weeks in advance, work 8-10 hour days without lunch and that’s to try to fit everyone in. It’s no longer sustainable for me. I will writing up a new price list which I will hand out at your next appointment to highlight what your service costs will be moving forward.
My prices are significantly low for my skill level, 35 years of experience and current market prices.
I realise that this may not suit everyone but I’ve felt that the other alternative was to retire from hairdressing completely. I will implement this price rise after your next appointments. Thankyou.

Howdy. I know I’ve mentioned to some of you that I may be heading to Bali again this year.
I can confirm that I will be away from March 31st-April 21st. I will be working up until Sat 28th March. That’s roughly 2 appointments for my 6 week people so I shall endeavour to fit you in before I head off.

Happy New Year❤️ the start of the year is a good opportunity to announce some updates.
*I will be increasing my prices this year. It’s been about 3 years since my last one.
I’m keeping it simple and every service will be increasing by $10. So a haircut is now $110, 1/2 foils $170 etc.
*My uni student prices will now be charged at adult prices and high school haircuts are now at $95.
*cancelling with less than 24hours notice will incur a cancellation fee of $50 & payment will be required before I can rebook you.
*I am no longer doing late nights. I do offer every second Saturday but my Saturdays are booked out 2 months in advance.
* I can only book 2 appointments in advance.
*whilst I understand sometimes lateness happens if you are more than 15mins late I will have to reschedule your appointment.
Can’t wait to see you all when I’m back on Tuesday.

It’s been a huge year for us all & thankyou for sharing it with me. We’ve laughed, cried, talked, shared, vented and glammed & have made it through another year.

As always I am super booked. I now have a minimum wait time of 4-6weeks to be able to find you an appointment.
I strongly suggest always rebooking to avoid the long wait time and where possible, try not to cancel.
Cancelling means waiting another 4-6 weeks before I can get you back in.
I know stuff happens as we all struggle to fit everything in around our busy lives but I can only offer a certain amount of appointments per month and I don’t have any flexibility to squeeze things in.
