Melbourne Craniosacral Therapy
Annie McCasland-Pexton is a Registered Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist (RCST). Sessions typically last for 30-45 minutes.
She completed a 2 year Diploma in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy with Ged Sumner of Body Intelligence Training in Melbourne in 2011. She has also attended postgraduate courses in treating Pregnant Women, Mothers, Babies & Children; and in the Vagus Nerve, which is of particular importance for people with Autism Spectrum Disorders, digestive issues and nervous system related conditions. Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, yet highly effective form of bodywork that originally developed out of osteopathic medicine in the USA over 100 years ago and is now practiced by craniosacral therapists and cranial osteopaths around the world. Clients lay fully clothed on a massage table while the craniosacral therapists uses a light touch, usually at the feet, head, or sacrum. The treatment session may also include work with other areas of the body such as the joints, diaphragm or face. Clients usually experience a deep relaxation during and after the sessions, they will often have improved sleep and energy levels after being treated. The treatment works on many levels - muscle tension eases, spine and joint alignment improves, the nervous system, immune system and endocrine (hormone) systems self-regulate, and settle down if they have been overactive, or awaken if they have been dormant. Digestion and elimination functions are improved by encouraging increased movement and blood flow to the abdominal organs. Craniosacral therapy is particularly well suited for meeting physical and emotional trauma that is stored in the body. The therapy creates a safe place for recovery to occur, sometimes during the session, or other times setting in motion a journey of recovery that can occur over a course of sessions and between sessions.

So proud of you Georgia Williams !!!
Not every World Cup achievement is measured by a shiny medal. Although Georgia earned a fantastic silver medal as part of Australia’s team kumite squad, what she achieved by reaching the world stage goes far beyond the podium. 💚💛🇦🇺
Georgia’s individual kata and kumite events yesterday didn’t go the way she had hoped. After everything it took to get there, it was understandable that she felt disappointed. But no result can measure the courage and determination it took for her to put on the gi, tie her belt and step onto the World Cup mats representing Australia.
Georgia has faced battles with invisible illnesses that many within her karate family may never have known about. Her health has often made training and preparation more difficult, but she continued working towards her dream whenever she could. Behind the scenes, various therapies and a great deal of support have helped her along the way, including the generous assistance of sponsors who believed in Georgia and her goals.
One of Georgia’s goals was to show others living with invisible illnesses that they can still have dreams, chase them and achieve great things. By representing Australia at the GKR Karate World Cup in the UK, she has done exactly that.
The fundraising support from our Greensborough and Diamond Creek karate families is also testament to how many people believed in Georgia and wanted to help her reach this stage. Thank you to everyone who donated, encouraged her and helped make this incredible opportunity possible.
It isn’t only about the shiny medals. Sometimes it is about proving to yourself that you have the mettle to overcome setbacks and keep moving towards something that matters to you.
Georgia, you should be incredibly proud of what you have achieved. You are a wonderful role model, particularly to the younger girls in our dojos who look up to you and can now see that difficult circumstances do not have to put an end to big dreams.
Well done, Georgia. Your karate family is very proud of you. 🥋💚

Have you tried anything to stimulate your vagus nerve? Personally I use an Apollo Neuro device, a Pulsetto and a tens machine, and craniosacral therapy of course.
Vagus nerve stimulation may tame autoimmune diseases The next big advance in treating diseases like rheumatoid arthritis could be tiny pulses of electricity delivered to the vagus nerve.

TLDR: sleeping on your side is better for the brain's ability to detox during sleep :-)
On your back? Side? Face-down? Mice show how we sleep may trigger or protect our brain from diseases like ALS Our new research with mice visualised how differently aged brains pump out toxic protein waste during sleep.
