5 years ago, I found myself, like many others, in a terrible place mentally, left to stew in my own trauma during the long Melbourne COVID lockdowns.

While I’m smiling here having had a midday glitter bath to break the monotony, I know now I was not in a good place and wasn’t for many years later.

And if I’m honest I’m still recovering and rebuilding.

But we do, and I wouldn’t be here without finding purpose, my friends and for my dog .

I’m not going to say I don’t regret things I did, said or was back then, but I did learn and I’m proud I learned.

When I see photos of back then I sometimes I wish I had the healing, the knowledge, the insight I have now. Maybe things would be different or maybe not. I don’t know. But what I do know is that I’m who I am today, proud of me, proud of my mini matriarchal community around me and proud that I stuck true to my values no matter how hard.

Messy magic. Kind glitter. Magic Kids.
Craft days with your little ones just got a glow up.

Made from plants, not plastic. So when the chaos settles, your conscience stays clear. 💚

Glitter is for everyone. No exceptions.

This is what planet-first glitter business looks like in real life. Reused packaging, real biodegradable glitter inside.

We reuse shipping materials whenever possible to reduce waste and keep resources in circulation. What is inside matters just as much. Glitterazzi glitter is plant-based, cosmetic-grade, and designed to biodegrade naturally.

From festivals to makeup kits to creative play with little hands, this is glitter made for humans who care about how things are made and where they end up.

Responsible beauty is not a trend for us. It is the foundation. Glitter should never be litter.

At Glitterazzi, we care deeply about radical inclusion. We are privileged to live and work in Australia. We are proud (most of the time, except like on days like today), to be Australian and we want to celebrate that.

But not on 26 January.

Here’s only one of the reasons why, but for us an important one.

On 26 January 1938, Aboriginal leaders organised a national protest in Sydney and declared the date a Day of Mourning.

They were protesting the celebration of British colonisation and 150 years since the arrival of the First Fleet. They were calling out the ongoing dispossession, discrimination, and exclusion of Aboriginal people. It was one of the first coordinated national civil rights actions led by First Nations people in Australia.

Fifty six years later, in 1994, governments formalised 26 January as the national public holiday known as Australia Day.

A date already marked by national protests against colonisation and First Nations rights was then marked as a day of national celebration with a National Holiday…

That seems a little short sighted.

This date was chosen by government, which means it can also be changed. For many Australians, the date itself does not carry personal or ancestral meaning. Most of us are not descendants of the First Fleet, and would assume those on the first fleet who were endured extraordinary hardship and suffering would not care for this date to be celebrated (but we can’t ask them can we…)

What matters is that for many First Nations people, this date continues to represent loss, trauma, and resistance.

A national day should bring people together.
It should allow everyone to participate without carrying harm.

Changing the date allows us to celebrate being Australian in a way that is inclusive, honest, and shared.

It really is that simple.
Change the date.

Also to note: in previous years I’ve always tried to incorporate glitter into my posts. But this year with the world on fire, I didn’t want this to be about any form of selling or celebrating. That why it’s just me, with my shirt on saying “change the date”.

🖤💛❤️

Don’t ask me to do Elf on the Shelf if you don’t want it him to be sitting in a vase of bioglitter.

Merry Xmas and happy holidays from Glitterazzi ✨

This time of year can be full of warmth, celebration, and togetherness for those who celebrate.
It can also be tender, heavy, or lonely for many.

Some of us are missing family because of war, displacement, distance, or hardship.
Some of us find family complicated, fractured, or simply not safe.
Many are feeling more disconnected than ever, as online spaces pull us further apart while loneliness grows, especially among men, and violence continues to rise in homes, communities, and across the world.

Every person’s experience on this earth is their own.
And yet, we believe one thing should be universal.

Everyone deserves to be safe.
Everyone deserves to express themselves as their authentic self.
Everyone deserves dignity, care, and belonging.

So this Xmas, our wish is simple and expansive all at once.
That the world becomes kinder, safer, and more equitable for all.
And that those who hold privilege choose to use it for protection, compassion, and good.

Wherever you are, however you are feeling, you belong here.
We’re holding space for joy, grief, rest, resistance, and hope all at once.

Live, Love, Sparkle,
Glitterazzi 💚🌏

Full moon bath with biodegradable glitter and flowers anyone? In this bath used three colours from our Iridescent Mythology range. Kaleidoscopic Kitsumi. Phosphorus Falcor. Viridescent Hippocampus. I love these glitters for baths as they not only drift though the water in the softest, most mystical way, these blends are plant based, plastic and aluminium free. They are fresh and marine water biodegradable and they break down into harmless substances which makes them perfect addition to your bath ritual.

If you have been curious about trying iridescent glitter in a bath, this is your sign. It is beautiful, water safe and full of tiny moments of joy.
