Breakfast sets the tone for steadier energy through the day.

Start with a protein rich breakfast before coffee.
I used to skip breakfast too. I thought I just wasn’t hungry.

But I was doing everything backwards:
Coffee first.
Grazing through the morning.
Then a huge dinner at night.
No surprise I woke up tired and couldn’t function before my first coffee.

Then the cycle started again.

Coffee.
A bigger blood sugar rise after food.
Energy crash.
Another coffee.
More grazing.
Then dinner.

A few small tweaks changed everything.

The biggest one was eating before coffee.
That helped me stop the midday energy crashes.
I also slowed down for the first few minutes of my morning. I sat down. I ate something simple. My appetite started showing up again
Your appetite isn’t broken.

It is giving you clues about your rhythm, your dinner timing and what you do first thing in the morning.

Don’t know where to start? 📍DM me, I can help you find your unique pattern and work out the way your appetite stays stable, so does your energy throughout the day.

She's 58. No full concert since March 2020.

Diagnosis 💔: 2022.

Stiff Person Syndrome. A rare autoimmune disease.

The immune system attacks the nerves that control her muscles. Muscles in the back, legs, stomach turn to stone. The body arches. The posture changes. Permanently. Muscles lock for seconds. Sometimes for hours.

A loud noise. Cold. Stress. Any of it can trigger an attack. You flinch. She freezes. And falls.

But most people don't know. She suffered symptoms for 17 years before that diagnosis.

17 years.

That's how long our medical system can take to catch up.

By the time a diagnosis lands, real damage is already done. Tissue destroyed. Enough to finally show up on a test.

You don't need to wait that long.

Earlier stage. Easier control. Before the damage is irreversible.

Weird symptoms no doctor can explain? Tests keep coming back "normal," but you know something isn't right?

📍 Book a consultation. Face-to-face in Melbourne. Or telehealth, anywhere in Australia.

She trained like an athlete to get her body back. Pilates. Reformer. Ballet. Physio. Immunotherapy.

"I have two choices. Train like an athlete, or shut down, and it's over."

September 12. Paris. 30,000 people. She walked on stage.

This is what willpower looks like 💙

Before buying another supplement, it’s worth asking what you’re actually hoping it will help with.

That’s where I start in a naturopathic consultation: what’s bothering you most, and what’s happening in your everyday life?

If sleep is the biggest issue, we might explore your caffeine timing and what happens around bedtime. With nutrition, I’ll look at whether you’re eating enough to meet your needs, including on the days when lunch barely happens.

Any supplement needs a clear reason, with evidence and your medications taken into account. Advice also needs to be practical enough to fit your life.

In this final part of my perimenopause series, I explain how personalised nutrition and lifestyle support can sit alongside your GP’s care and medical treatment options.

DM me to discuss booking a naturopathic consultation at My Natural Clinic in Highett, Bayside Melbourne, or a telehealth appointment anywhere in Australia.

Wide awake at 3am and losing your train of thought halfway through a sentence?

Perimenopause could be one possible explanation.

Sleep changes and brain fog can happen during this transition, even while you’re still getting your period. You might also find your patience is wearing thin, or everyday things suddenly feel harder to manage.

A symptom checklist on Instagram can only tell you so much. Other health conditions can cause similar changes, and the time you wake up won’t tell us what’s causing them.

Noting what’s changed, alongside your menstrual cycle, gives you something useful to bring to a consultation. Your GP can assess possible causes, and I can support your nutrition and lifestyle alongside your medical care.

I’m Olga, a naturopath at My Natural Clinic in Highett, Bayside Melbourne. This is part 2 of my perimenopause series for women across Australia.

Follow along for the final part, where I explain what naturopathic support during perimenopause can involve.

Still getting your period? Perimenopause doesn’t wait for it to stop.

And hot flushes aren’t an entry requirement either.

Changes in sleep and mood can be part of perimenopause, even while you’re still having periods. When you’re around 40 and perhaps still thinking about babies, it might not even be on your radar.

That doesn’t mean every bad night or mood change is hormonal. Your symptoms deserve proper context, and a conversation with your GP can help explore what’s going on.

I’m Olga, a qualified naturopath at My Natural Clinic in Highett, Bayside Melbourne. This is part 1 of my three-part perimenopause series, exploring symptoms and how nutrition and lifestyle advice can support you alongside medical care.

Follow along this week as I unpack the questions women across Australia are asking about perimenopause and how a naturopath can help.

Would you recognise perimenopause without a single hot flush?

You’re waking at 3am. Or losing your train of thought halfway through a conversation. Could perimenopause be part of the picture?

It can begin while you’re still having periods, and hot flushes aren’t something everyone experiences.

Australian women, follow OLGA MANDIC MELBOURNE NATUROPATH this week. Our three-part perimenopause series will help you understand what’s worth paying attention to and what support can look like.

We’ll explore the misconceptions that cause confusion, including symptoms you might overlook. Then we’ll discuss how a naturopath can support your nutrition and lifestyle, and what to consider before buying perimenopause supplements.

These symptoms can have other causes, so discussing changes with your GP matters.

Send this to a friend you’ve had the “could it be perimenopause?” conversation with.

Melbourne naturopath Olga Mandic offers personalised support at My Natural Clinic alongside your medical care, with in-person consultations in Melbourne and Telehealth Australia-wide available.

Mum life is tiring. But should you really feel THIS tired?

If you’re a mum who feels tired all the time, poor sleep, stress, diet, nutrient deficiencies and other factors may all play a role. Sometimes it’s worth looking at the bigger picture.

You don’t have to just keep pushing through persistent fatigue.

DM me to discuss booking a personalised naturopathic consultation in Melbourne or via telehealth anywhere in Australia.

“I’ve always been like this.”

Possibly the most expensive sentence we tell ourselves.

If you’ve been working around persistent fatigue, bloating, recurring headaches or other ongoing symptoms for years, maybe it’s time to stop calling them normal.

I’d love to help you explore the broader picture behind your symptoms with personalised, evidence-informed naturopathic support.

DM me to discuss an in-person naturopathic consultation in Melbourne or a Telehealth consultation from anywhere in Australia.

Your teenager’s acne might not just be a skincare problem!

When it comes to teenage acne, it’s easy to focus on what we can see on the surface. But your skin is more complex than that - and there can be more to consider than which cleanser or acne treatment your teen is using.

When I see a teenager struggling with persistent breakouts, I want to understand the bigger picture - their gut health, hormones, sleep, nutrition and stress levels.

That’s why simply adding another product to your teen’s skincare routine may not always be the answer.

DM us to book your consultation today. My Natural Clinic offers in-person consultations in Melbourne and Telehealth appointments Australia-wide.
