Both can change how your stomach looks. But only one changes how your body actually works.
That difference matters more than most women are told.
Cosmetic contouring works on the surface. It reduces fat, tightens loose skin, and improves the shape of your abdomen. If your core function is intact and what's left is remaining fat or loose skin, this is a genuine option.
Core function restoration works on what pregnancy actually changed underneath: the muscles, the connective tissue, and the pressure system that holds your midsection together.
So how do you know which one you need?
✔ Contouring may be right if your core feels strong and stable, and your concern is loose skin or a bit of remaining fat.
✔ Core restoration may be right if your stomach still protrudes despite losing the weight, or if you have back pain, pelvic floor weakness, or feel unstable when you lift.
Here's what we see all the time. Two women can have the same-looking tummy for completely different reasons. Tighten the skin over a core that hasn't been rebuilt, and the real issue is still sitting there underneath.
At The Elite Hub, we start by understanding which problem you actually have before we recommend a single treatment. We've seen this exact situation hundreds of times, and we test before we guess.
For many post-pregnancy women, this was never about choosing one path over the other. It's about knowing what's happening beneath the surface first.
Which of these sounds more like what you've been living with?
👉 Send us a DM with the word "CORE" and we'll help you understand where to start.

You eat well. You move your body. You've been consistent for years. And still, that tummy won't budge and your back aches by the end of the day.
The frustration isn't in your head, and it isn't a lack of effort. Pregnancy changes your core in ways no one really explains at your six-week check.
Your core isn't one muscle. It's a four-part support system: diaphragm, abdominals, deep spinal muscles, and pelvic floor. During pregnancy, that whole system stretches to make room for your baby, and for many women, it doesn't fully regain function on its own. 🌸
Research suggests natural healing tends to plateau around 12 months postpartum. Which is why women who are two, three, even five years in can still feel the same instability, back discomfort, and persistent belly they felt in the early days.
Swipe through for the 3 changes no one told you about, so you finally have the language for what your body actually needs.

One of the women we've worked with has been coming in for about 18 months.
The treatments themselves don't take that long. She kept coming back because she felt genuinely listened to.
That's what we want to talk about today. A recovery plan works or falls apart for reasons that go beyond the treatment room.
Here are 3 things that make it stick 👇
Goals beyond the mirror.
The plans that work set goals for how your body feels and functions, alongside how it looks. When we ask about your energy, your confidence, and your daily life as well as your measurements, we can build something that fits your real life.
Mental health is part of the plan.
Post-pregnancy recovery isn't purely physical. Hormonal shifts, broken sleep, and the identity changes of becoming a mum all affect how your body responds. A plan that acknowledges your mental state alongside your physical one helps you keep going.
Continuity over intensity.
Showing up consistently over months matters more than any single hard session. The women who see the deepest change are the ones who feel safe enough to keep coming back, even after a rough week or a missed appointment.
That last one is why we check in after a cancellation. Missing a session doesn't mean you disappear. It means we reach out.
At The Elite Hub, this is what personalisation really means. We test, we listen, and we build the plan around the whole person.
If you've felt like recovery has to be something you do alone, we'd love to show you a different way. 🌷

A tummy tuck changes how your stomach looks. Non-invasive restoration changes how your core works. For a lot of mums, that one difference decides the whole path forward.
Surgery (abdominoplasty) removes excess skin and can reposition muscle. It's a significant procedure. Weeks of recovery, general anaesthesia, and real surgical risk. For some women with significant loose skin that simply won't respond to anything else, it's the right call.
Non-invasive restoration works differently. Muscle activation therapy, body contouring, and skin tightening rebuild core function and improve appearance, without cutting and without downtime. 🌸
It's often the better fit for women dealing with muscle separation (also called diastasis recti, where the abdominal muscles have pulled apart during pregnancy), core dysfunction, or moderate skin laxity. And for any mum who needs to keep lifting toddlers, driving to school, and being present at home, the no-downtime part matters more than most clinics acknowledge.
Questions worth asking at any consultation: Is my concern structural, skin-related, or both? What's actually causing the shape I'm seeing? And which approach restores function, not just appearance?
Real restoration considers the whole picture. That's exactly what our Mummy Tummy Rescue Plan is built around.

Most mums expect skin to tighten within a few weeks of starting treatment. When it doesn't, they assume it isn't working.
Here's what's actually happening under the surface.
Skin firming after pregnancy depends on collagen remodelling. That's the process where your body breaks down old collagen and builds new, better-organised collagen in its place. Published skin and wound-healing research shows this continues for 3 to 12 months, with the biggest structural change happening well past those first four weeks.
So a fortnight after a session, your mirror might look the same. Under the skin, your body is already rebuilding. It works on its own timeline, and that timeline is longer than most of us are told.
This is exactly why sequencing matters. At The Elite Hub, we map treatment to where your body is in that remodelling window, so each session builds on the last. We test where you are, then plan from there.
We help Australian mums restore core function and firm the skin over a structured plan, because real change is gradual and your body deserves the full runway to do it properly. ✅
If you've felt like nothing was happening, would it help to know your body was quietly working the whole time?

You've lost the baby weight, but your stomach still won't go. Sound familiar?
Here's something many mums don't realise: a mummy tummy isn't always a fat problem. Sometimes it's the skin itself.
Two women can have the same tummy shape for completely different reasons. One has soft, loose, crepe-like skin with very little fat underneath, where pregnancy stretched the tissue and it never fully firmed back up. The other still carries localised fat deposits, the stubborn kind that stays put no matter how well she eats or trains.
Same frustration. Very different stories.
This matters, because skin tightening and fat reduction work on completely different layers of the body.
Skin tightening stimulates collagen and elastin to firm and remodel the skin. It's best for women who've lost the baby weight but still have a soft or loose texture around the abdomen.
Fat reduction targets stubborn fat cells beneath the skin. It's best for women who still carry fat deposits that haven't responded to diet and exercise.
Treat the wrong layer, and you'll see little to no change, however advanced the technology is.
This is exactly why we assess before we treat at The Elite Hub. We don't guess. We test.
So which layer is really behind your mummy tummy? If you're not sure, that's the whole reason to start with an assessment. 💙

Two years of effort. Two professionals. Not one mention of the actual problem.
Her trainer said to tighten her core. Her physio suggested more breathing work. Meanwhile, her abdominal muscles had physically separated during pregnancy, and no amount of discipline was going to close that gap.
Diastasis recti is a structural change, not a fitness failure. The core cylinder — your diaphragm, deep abdominal muscles, spinal stabilisers, and pelvic floor — gets stretched in ways that don't automatically knit back together after birth. Natural healing tends to plateau around the 12-month mark, which is why so many mums feel stuck no matter how consistent they are.
Swipe through for the 3 moments that shifted one mum from self-blame to self-understanding. 🌸
Your body not responding to effort is not a character flaw. It is a sign that the effort needs to be aimed at the right target.

School holidays are here, and the swimwear question is back. Beach day or pool day?
For a lot of mums, this isn't a light choice. The beach means towels close by, a rashie within reach, and finding a spot where you feel settled. The pool means bright lights, other parents, and less to hide behind. Both are beautiful summer moments. They just carry very different emotional weight after pregnancy. 🌸
Here's what we want you to know. If your tummy still feels soft, domed, or unsettled no matter how well you eat or how often you move, it's rarely about effort. Abdominal separation, the gap between the muscles down the centre of your stomach, doesn't respond to sit-ups or clean eating. Natural healing usually plateaus around the 12-month mark, which is why so many mums feel stuck years later.
Your body isn't the problem. The structure underneath simply needs the right kind of support to rebuild.
So tell us below. Beach day or pool day this July? We'd love to hear where you feel most like yourself. 🌊

Most women have never had their core properly assessed. Only their weight, their BMI, or their willpower.
That's why so many programs miss the mark. When no one measures what's actually happening beneath the surface, every plan becomes guesswork dressed up as a solution.
A proper post-pregnancy assessment looks at three things generic programs skip entirely:
🌸 The depth and firmness of your abdominal separation (the gap in the connective tissue running down your midline)
🌸 How your core functions under load, not just at rest
🌸 Whether you're dealing with loose skin, stretched tissue, or something else entirely
Two women with identical-looking stomachs can have completely different internal stories. That's why one program can't possibly work for everyone.
Swipe through to see what a real assessment actually checks, and why identifying the right problem is what finally makes the right solution obvious.

She came in after two years of daily core workouts.
Her abs were visibly strong. Yet during a single-leg stand, her pelvic floor couldn't hold pressure at all.
She'd been training one wall of a four-walled room and wondering why the room kept collapsing.
Here's the idea worth teaching: your core isn't your abs.
Your core is a four-part support system that works like a cylinder:
Diaphragm at the top.
Abdominals at the front.
Deep spinal muscles at the back.
Pelvic floor at the bottom.
All four walls have to coordinate and share pressure. When one wall can't hold its share, pressure leaks out through the weakest point. Strong abs alone can't fix that, because abs are only one wall.
Pregnancy stretches this whole system dramatically, and many women never fully regain that coordinated function after birth.
Here's something you can check yourself.
Lie flat on your back. Exhale forcefully. Watch and feel the midline of your abdomen with two fingertips.
If you notice a subtle outward dome pushing up through the centre, that's your system leaking pressure through its weakest point. It tells a far more accurate story than any ab exercise count ever will.
This is exactly why we don't guess. We test. Because the number of crunches you can do says nothing about whether your four walls are actually working together.
Have you ever done that quiet exhale-and-check on yourself? What did you notice? 🌸
