PRODUCT BUILD-UP 101

When a product formulation doesn’t agree with your skin, it can show up as congestion, texture, closed comedones and an overall build up within the follicles.

In this case we’re seeing significant congestion associated with prolonged use of products that weren’t the right fit for her skin.

Some formulations contain heavier occlusive ingredients, rich emollients or film-forming agents that, when layered or used long term on skin that doesn’t tolerate them well, can contribute to congestion.

That doesn’t mean these ingredients are bad, it means formulations matter, and skin compatibility matters.

When I’m assessing skincare, I’m not just looking at the actives on the bottle, I’m looking at the whole formulation, how the ingredients work together, how they interact with the skin and whether they’re actually appropriate for your skin.

Because good skincare should work with your skin, not against it ❤️‍🔥
