The Basin Haircutters

This week, we celebrate 25 years of our iconic Adelaide hairdressing salon, and we do so with pride beyond belief.

I would not for one minute have thought that meeting Stephen on a plane coming back from Hair Expo in 1995 would start a long friendship and ultimately an amazing business relationship. Several years later and thoughtful conversation between the two of us and another dear friend, Don, saw the birth of The Basin Haircutters in 2001.

Over the years, we have trained so many skilled and wonderful hairdressers, some of whom still work alongside us today. We have travelled to many countries around the world, sharing our craft, our skills and our knowledge, as well as teaching and sharing about how to run a better business, and continually learning and bettering ourselves in our craft so we can lead and support a great team.

We have built long-standing relationships with clients who have travelled this journey with us. Having three generations of families within our business is not uncommon. We have loved our new clients just as much as we have treasured those who have come and gone along the way and remember the ones that are no longer with us .

We would simply like to say THANK YOU.

Thank you for trusting us with your hair, your joy and your sadness, your meaningful conversations and your intimate thoughts. It has been a privilege to be welcomed into so many parts of your lives.

And to our amazing team, past and present — you have helped us travel this incredible distance. Our pride has always been our salon culture, and within that culture we have created so many wonderful, long-lasting connections.

So, as we celebrate 25 years, we look back with enormous pride and gratitude for everything The Basin has become, and for all of the people who have helped shape it.
