✨Catchya eftpos (visa/mastercard) surcharge from Oct 1✨

Boring post but ive had a handful of clients ask what im doing e.g. No eftpos? pricing changes? etc
The surcharge is something ive passed on only for the past 6 months in my 8 year old business. For my biz- i WONT be changing my pricing, ill go back to absorbing it like i had for years, sooo eftpos is available as usual🫶🏻

Ive also had a few “But its only like $2-$5”…..well its not….before i started passing on the fees it cost me $49,633.81 over 7.5 years, thats a new car or a house deposit. Or it averages out to over $550 a month , every month….. I paid just to have the convenience of an eftpos facility available. Insanity tbh🫠💀

💵Cash: is always accepted. Ill try my best to have change on hand…but its often super difficult to close shop before lunchtime to get change before the bank closes 💀

🩵Afterpay: there will still be 10% GST on added on top of services paid for via Afterpay. I dont see this money…its a government tax, not a fee/surcharge relating to using eftpos. By adding it ontop of your total instead of it being inclusive like i do for other payment methods, this covers the 10% GST component of your service NOT the insane fees Afterpay charges me every time someone uses it in salon (which contractually businesses are not allowed to pass on Afterpays insane merchant fees to the customer, so i also pay those on top of eftpos fees aswell).
Its either GST is ontop of services using afterpay as a payment method or i get rid of it as a payment option. Im a tiny biz, intergrating their ap***it fees into my pricing across as the board like big businesses do isnt fair on the other 80% of clients that dont use it so this is the only option that makes it even slightly viable for me to have it available.
