Never been to a Myotherapist before? 👋

Your first appointment is about much more than just jumping on the treatment table.

We’ll chat about what’s going on, assess how you’re moving, work through a treatment tailored to you, and put a plan in place to help you keep progressing.

Depending on what you need, treatment may include hands-on techniques, dry needling, cupping, joint mobilisation, stretching and simple exercises to work on between appointments.

The aim is simple — for you to leave with a better understanding of what’s going on, what we can do about it, and a clear plan moving forward.

Got questions about whether Myotherapy could help you? Send me a DM.

Are you sick of foam rolling? Keep thrashing away only to find it does nothing. Maybe you need more! Here in Geelong we focus on giving you the tools and strategies to manage outside of the clinic. The treatment and massage is a huge part of what we do but we identify what’s holding you back and allow you to keep moving forward. If your sick of temporary relief, reach out Myotherapy might be just what you’ve been missing

Have you got shoulder pain? Myotherapy can help. Here’s a few exercises I used recently with a client who had been struggling with her shoulder for months. Imaging can help but we can also treat successfully without it. We created a plan and reduced her pain while restoring range and mobility in the shoulder. If your stuck on what to do reach out I’m here in Geelong

The more you tell me, the more I can understand what’s actually going on.

Your initial consultation isn’t just about where it hurts.

I want to know how it started, what makes it better or worse, what you’ve already tried, your injury and health history, and most importantly — what you want to get back to doing.

Sometimes the small details provide the most useful context.

And if something changes between appointments? Tell me. Your treatment and exercise plan can change with you.

Got a niggle that’s not settling?

Geelong done! 🏃‍♂️👏

Whether you raced the 6.5km, half marathon or full marathon, firstly — well done!

Now comes the bit runners aren’t always quite as good at… recovery 😅

A few things to think about over the coming days:

👉 Give your body some time to recover
👉 Keep moving, but keep it easy
👉 Refuel, rehydrate and prioritise sleep
👉 Expect some soreness
👉 Don’t make your first run back another test

And if something isn’t settling, an old niggle has flared up, or pain is changing the way you move, it might be worth getting it assessed.

Enjoy the achievement, give the body a bit of love and don’t rush straight into chasing the next PB.

Well done, Geelong runners! 👏

Strength training has become non-negotiable for me - but not because I want to get big or lift the heaviest weights in the gym.
I train because I want to keep running and cycling. I want to play with my daughter, travel, work comfortably say yes to new experiences.
It’s not about how I feel today. It’s about maintaining the muscle, bone and physical capacity I’ll need in my 60s,70s and beyond. Ageing is inevitable- but loosing strength and independence doesn’t have to be. For me strength training is about staying capable. What are you strength training for?

Have you got hamstring pain? This can be really common in runners. Tackling 5k your first half marathon or even going all out for the Marathon Myotherapy can help. Hamstring pain is common in clinic. Give these a go.

Got a grumpy knee? 🦵

Here are a few more exercises we can use to progressively load the knee and build strength:

• Decline squats
• Wall-sit holds
• Spanish squats
• Knee extensions

Decline squats can be particularly useful for loading the patellar tendon, while the right exercise and dosage will depend on what’s causing your symptoms.

Save this reel for later, and follow for more knee-pain tips.
