As a small business owner, I’m making a few little changes to help me balance clinic days, family life and all the behind-the-scenes bits of running One Aesthetics.

Going forward, my message response hours will be Monday–Friday, 10am–12pm.

Product orders received before 10am on weekdays will be processed that business day where possible, with later orders processed the next business day.

Product collection will be by arrangement, so please wait for confirmation before popping over.

ITS NOT ALL DOOM AND GLOOM THOUGH - Melasma can be frustrating.. especially when you feel like you’ve tried everything and the pigment keeps finding its way back.

The truth is, melasma isn’t something I ever promise to “erase.” It’s a chronic, often recurring condition that needs a considered, long-term approach. That doesn’t mean there’s nothing we can do. 🤍

There are a number of treatments that can be incorporated into a melasma management plan, including:

• Bespoke brightening treatments

• Procell Microchanneling
• Targeted home care
• Consistent UV + visible-light protection

The key is knowing when to use which treatment and when not to push the skin too far.

For melasma-prone skin, more aggressive doesn’t automatically mean better. Treatment needs to be selected around your pigmentation, skin condition, triggers, tolerance and long-term goals.

That's where my role as a qualified Dermal Therapist comes in. I’m not here to sell you the strongest treatment on the menu. I’m here to assess your skin, understand what’s contributing to your pigmentation and build a plan that makes sense for your skin.

Improvement is possible. Management is the goal. 🤍

TRIGGERS - THE MORE WE KNOW - MELASMA SERIES☀💊🔥🧬

This one deserved a dedicated post because even if we have balanced our hormones or are in the process of getting them investigated...it helps to know potential triggers. WHY? Well, if we can identify the triggers of our melasma 👉🏼 we can put strategies in place to avoid them or mitigate the risk of them impacting our skin 👉🏼 which then means we can reduce melasma or, at the very least, slow it down from getting worse.

The thing with this condition is that if you're exposing yourself to known triggers and it gets worse, well...kinda have no one to blame but yourself... you'll also be chasing your tail trying to correct preexisting melasma as well because it could show up somewhere else.

Treating melasma or any hyperpigmentation requires consistency, dedication, the right treatments and products to support those treatments and patience.
