I love when I get to see an actual ASMR reaction happening in real time. 🥹

This client already loves ASMR and regularly experiences tingles when watching it online, so she was really excited to find out what it would feel like in person.

During her session, I noticed her body doing little twitches and what I like to call a 'Mexican wave' moving through her body. I checked in to make sure she was comfortable, and she told me she was absolutely fine, she was just getting a LOT of ASMR tingles.

It’s fascinating how differently ASMR can show up physically. Sometimes it looks like little twitches, shivers or movements that could easily be mistaken for being ticklish.

And you don't have to experience ASMR tingles to enjoy an ASMR massage. The slow, light and nurturing touch can be deeply relaxing on its own.

In fact, at the end of this session, she told me her mind had finally gone quiet and that it was "the most relaxed she had ever felt from a massage."

If you'd like to experience it for yourself, I offer fully customisable ASMR sessions from my private home studio in Eight Mile Plains, Brisbane

I was recording for an ASMR video and this sound caught me by surprise in the best possible way, major ASMR tingles!

Something about the way the hair is scratching against the mic has this amazing crackling sound to it that instantly made my brain melt!

Me and the client were both in absolute bliss during this Crown of Tranquillity session đź«

ASMR massage is still a very new modality in the wellness industry and I know not everyone is convinced by it.

Since sharing my work publicly, I've heard everything from genuine curiosity to comments calling ASMR massage “woo-woo”, questioning whether it belongs in the wellness industry, and even calling it a scam.

And I understand the scepticism. When something is unfamiliar, it's natural to question it.

So I wanted to share a little glimpse into the actual neuroscience behind gentle, nurturing touch including the fascinating role of C-tactile afferents.

These specialised sensory nerve fibres respond particularly to gentle, pleasant touch, and research into affective touch is helping us better understand the relationship between touch, the brain and how we feel.

The research specifically into ASMR is still developing. But it certainly challenges the idea that this is simply “woo-woo”.

After performing 1,000+ ASMR massage sessions, I've also had the privilege of seeing the response firsthand.

I now have 130+ five-star Google reviews, along with countless testimonials and real client videos sharing their experiences.

And with more ASMR massage practitioners emerging around the world, more people are getting the opportunity to experience this modality for themselves.

If you've never experienced it, you might be surprised by just how deeply relaxing it can be.

And if you're curious about the science, don't just take my word for it, C-tactile afferents and affective touch are fascinating topics you can easily research for yourself.

What's your favourite childhood memory of receiving nurturing touch?

Let me know in the comments.

Have you ever wondered what an ASMR massage actually is?

You might have heard of ASMR from YouTube or TikTok, maybe you've watched videos of hair brushing, tapping, scratching or soft sounds because you find them incredibly relaxing.

But did you know you can actually experience ASMR in person?

That's exactly what I do.

I'm Neeka, and I've created a dedicated in-person ASMR massage experience for women here in Brisbane.

It's quite different from a traditional massage.

Instead of focusing on deep pressure and working into tight muscles, I use slow, light and nurturing touch, combined with sensory tools, textures and ASMR sounds.

You might experience your hair being brushed, your scalp gently scratched, soft brushes across your skin, tapping and scratching sounds, or a combination of different sensory triggers, and you can choose what you enjoy.

The idea isn't to make you “tough it out” through a massage.

It's to give your mind something gentle to focus on so you can stop thinking about everything else for a while.

I've been working in the beauty and wellness industry for more than 20 years, and I created this service because I wanted to bring the comfort and relaxation I love about ASMR into a real-life experience.

I've now built a large community of women across my social media who love what I do, and I'm incredibly grateful to have received 130 five-star Google reviews from clients who have experienced it for themselves.

📍 I'm based in Eight Mile Plains, Brisbane, in my private home studio, and I work exclusively with women aged 16+.

Curious about what an in-person ASMR experience actually feels like?

If you have questions, send me a DM. I'm always happy to explain how it works and help you decide whether it's something you'd enjoy.

There’s still a lot we don’t know about ASMR massage… and that’s okay.

Following my recent feature in 'The Australian', I’ve seen a range of reactions to ASMR massage in the comments online, from genuine curiosity to people questioning whether something so different can really have a place in the wellness industry.

When something is unfamiliar, it’s easy to judge it based on a few seconds of what's been seen. But the short snippets shown in the news coverage represent only a tiny part of what actually takes place during an ASMR massage session.

I’m a fully qualified massage therapist and beauty therapist with over 22 years of experience, having worked with thousands of clients across many different treatments.

My sessions combine hands-on massage techniques with sensory tools, sounds, textures and movements to create a deeply relaxing, immersive experience.

ASMR itself isn't new. The term was coined in 2006, although many of us experienced those sensations long before there was a name for them. What is new is bringing that experience into a live, in-person wellness setting.

There are now hundreds of ASMR massage studios and practitioners around the world, and it continues to grow.

I’ve also experienced ASMR massage myself, and can honestly say it was one of the most relaxing experiences I’ve ever had. Many of my clients have told me the same.

Of course, it isn’t for everyone, and that’s completely okay. Some people prefer deep tissue massage, remedial work, or don’t enjoy sensory-based experiences.

Wellness isn’t one-size-fits-all.

But dismissing ASMR massage as nothing more than a joke or something a toddler can do, misses the bigger picture. I believe it absolutely has a place within the wellness industry, and I’m proud to be helping pioneer this emerging modality in Australia.

If you’ve experienced an ASMR massage with me, I’d love to hear what the experience was like for you. Leave a comment below, your experience might help someone who has never tried it understand what makes it so different.

A little pinch-me moment!

I’m incredibly excited to share that ASMR Massage Therapy has been featured in The Australian! 🥹

What started as an idea to bring the deeply calming world of ASMR into a real-world wellness experience has grown into something I’m so incredibly proud of.

The article explores the rise of ASMR, why so many people find it relaxing, and how it’s moving beyond the internet and into the wellness space, including the work I’m doing here in Brisbane.

It’s pretty surreal seeing something I believed in enough to build from the ground up now being recognised by one of Australia’s major newspapers.

A huge thank you to journalist Jordan Lamont for including me in this story and helping shine a light on the world of ASMR.

And to every woman who has booked a session, supported my business, shared my content, or simply believed in what I’m creating, thank you!! This wouldn’t be possible without you.
