Vitamin A, the ingredient worth being patient for.
You may know it as retinol, and it is one of the most well-studied ingredients in all of skincare.
It supports cell turnover and collagen, which is why it is so often associated with smoother texture, clearer-looking skin, and firmness that develops over time.
The catch is that it asks for patience. Skin needs time to adjust, and going too hard too soon is the most common mistake we see. It tends to show up as redness and irritation, which puts people off before they ever get to the good part.
So we always suggest starting low and slow: a lower strength, a couple of nights a week, building up gradually as your skin tells you it is ready.
Use it at night, keep the rest of your routine supportive rather than stripping, and never skip your SPF the following day.

Meet Alysse 🤍
We have some exciting news to share and cannot wait to introduce you to the newest member of the Bonny Skin team.
Meet Alysse, our newest Cosmetic Nurse.
Alysse is a Registered Nurse and is currently completing her Graduate Diploma of Cosmetic Nursing and Injectables through AACDS, following the same postgraduate education pathway as Dani and Meg.
With a genuine interest in both cosmetic nursing and skin health, Alysse will work across cosmetic aesthetics and advanced skin treatments at Bonny. This will include consultations and treatments for wrinkle reduction, alongside a range of our results-driven skin treatments.
Her approach is warm, considered and personalised, with a focus on taking the time to understand each client's individual concerns and goals before developing an appropriate treatment plan.

Plasma pen. Non-invasive skin-tightening.
It uses energy to create a small amount of plasma, which delivers a controlled micro-trauma to the surface of the skin. That is the part that matters: it prompts your fibroblasts, the cells responsible for collagen and elastin, to begin a repair response.
Because of how it works, it is often chosen for the look of fine lines, loose or excess skin, and concerns such as skin tags across the face, eyes and neck.
It is worth being upfront about what to expect, because this treatment does involve downtime. We apply a topical numbing beforehand for your comfort. Afterwards, the area is usually swollen and pink, with small brown dots forming across the surface. These are part of the process and heal over roughly a week, with skin feeling rough and dry for the first few days.
