5 PIGMENTATION MISTAKES I SEE ALL THE TIME đđ¤
If you feel like youâve tried everything for your pigmentation & itâs still not improving, one of these might be the reasonâŚ
1. Youâre only wearing SPF when itâs sunny âď¸
If pigmentation is your concern, SPF isnât just for beach days. UV exposure can make pigmentation darker & harder to manage, so daily sun protection needs to be part of the plan even when youâre working on the pigmentation with treatments.
2. Youâre trying to scrub the pigmentation away đŤŁ
Pigmentation isnât dirt.
Scrubbing harder, over exfoliating or constantly using strong acids can irritate your skin & more inflammation can mean more pigmentation, especially in darker skin tones. Sometimes we need to calm the skin down before we try to brighten it.
3. You keep changing your products
You saw something on TikTok.
Then your friend recommended something.
Then another serum went viralâŚ
Suddenly youâre using six different actives & wondering why your skin is angry. đ
Pigmentation takes time. A simple, consistent routine that actually suits your skin is usually much better than constantly starting again.
4. Youâre treating the dark mark but ignoring WHY it happened
This is a big one.
Was it acne?
Inflammation?
Sun exposure?
Hormonal pigmentation?
Skin irritation?
If we donât understand whatâs triggering the pigmentation, simply trying to âfade the spotâ may not give you the result youâre hoping for.
5. Youâre expecting one treatment to fix it
I wish pigmentation worked like that. đ
For many people, improvement takes a combination of the right home care, daily sun protection, appropriate professional treatments & probably the least exciting part: consistency and patience.
Your pigmentation didnât necessarily develop overnight, so give your skin time. đ¤
& please remember: more aggressive doesnât always mean better.
Especially when weâre treating skin of colour, protecting the skin barrier & controlling inflammation are just as important as targeting the pigment itself.

And if youâve been throwing everything at your pigmentation & still donât know what your skin actually needs, DM me âPIGMENTATIONâ, & we can start with a proper skin assessment.

Can ProCell Microchanneling help with melasma & hyperpigmentation? đ¤
It can be a really useful tool ,but hereâs the part I want you to know:
Melasma isnât something we simply âremoveâ in one treatment.
When Iâm treating pigmentation, I look at the bigger picture: whatâs triggering it, your skin type, inflammation, sun exposure, your home care, and whether your skin barrier is healthy enough for treatment.
ProCell Microchanneling creates controlled microchannels in the skin and can be incorporated into a personalised pigmentation treatment plan.
Research into microneedling for melasma is promising, particularly when itâs used alongside other appropriate therapies rather than as a stand alone quick fix.
Thatâs where your consultation matters. đŠđžââď¸
Not every pigmentation is melasma.
Not every client with pigmentation needs the same treatment.
For some clients, I may recommend ProCell. For others, I may start with home care, barrier support or another treatment entirely.
My goal isnât to give you the treatment you saw on Instagram; itâs to choose whatâs appropriate for YOUR skin. đ¤
And remember: when weâre managing pigmentation, your results donât stop at the clinic door.
âď¸ Daily sun protection
𧴠Consistent home care
⨠Appropriate treatments
đ¤ Patience & consistency
All matter.
If youâre struggling with melasma or stubborn pigmentation & youâre not sure where to start, DM me âPIGMENTATIONâ, & we can start with a skin consultation.

Girl, drink your water thirsty skin isnât in đ§â¨
And no⌠it doesnât have to be plain water.
Think warm, skin loving hydration this winter:
Chamomile to calm, hibiscus for glow, lemon water to refresh, and even broths to deeply hydrate from within.
Because when your body is dehydrated, your skin barrier weakens leading to dullness, dryness, and fine lines.
Hydration isnât just a habit⌠itâs skin therapy.
Sip smarter. Glam better.
