🌸 WHERE IT ALL BEGAN 🌸

Incense crafting bloomed for me in 2017.
It's almost 10 years of working with this incredible aromatic medium..and still I would consider myself a novice to the craft.

The plants were always part of my bones story.
From the time I can remember, I always wanted to be a Park Ranger.. Instead I studied Horticulture and eventually worked in the florist and nursery industry.
::
Making smoke bundles was my initiation into smoke medicine, then came loose herbal incense where I studied using 24 different herbs for the dreaming realm.
And then came combustible incense & kneaded incense.
::
All have been incredible teachers and allys.
I have taught many to work with this craft and it's something I thoroughly enjoy sharing.
::
Sometimes, to look back on how you began, is a reminder of your dedication and willingness to listen to a greater nudge which lives in the Spirit of your own heart.
::
I've been working on a few exciting projects of my own which I'm so looking forward to sharing with you all.
::

Each blend will now include seasonal flora and fauna imprints.
At the time of crafting, I turn to the wild of landscape to mirror the ecology of the seasonal wheel of my area, Kaurna Country along the Yarralinka, of the Mudla Wirra.

And so, reflected in the tiles here, are the specific imprints at the time of crafting.
Each batch sent out receives a bioregional imprint card.

It's been almost 4 months since my darling Dad crossed into the next world.
::
Days of strange still linger & the empty space that he has left feels impossible to fill. Perhaps it's not meant to "fill". Maybe the space remains open and moving to allow the Spirit to become more.
::
In this deeply reflective time, I have moments of what feels like sacred turning in. A silence that in some way is comforting and necessary for integration.
::
Currently, today, in my internal quest, I find myself reflecting on our move here.
HUGE! Is the word, in every shape.
2 years of living here..of having my world turned upside down.
::
For 8 years, I cultivated beautiful and incredible relationships in Melbourne and I find myself missing my dear sisters, friends and community circles, the grounded gatherings, the healind den...bioregional connections from familiar winged ones and ofcourse the garden I tended to so lovingly for years.
::
I left SA 15 years ago. A lot has changed. I've changed. And now I find myself reweaving the woman I have become into a new way of being.
A new way of relating, and in time, with a slow respect, the trees will become my Elders once again and the river will call me home.
::
Life certainly is an adventure. Unpredictable. A force of nature with certainty.
