Yes, but you need to consider a few factors.

1. You need to avoid the sun for 2 weeks prior to treatment. If you’re doing your normal work schedule, this shouldn’t be too hard. If you’re taking time off and spending time at the beach, then you need to avoid laser treatments.

2. Post treatment, you need to avoid the sun and heat. You’ll feel hot after a CoolPeel, so you want to stay in a cool climate afterwards. This means not baking outdoors or in a hot car. You also want to avoid swimming, steam rooms, exercise and outdoor walks for at least 3 days post treatment.

3. Summer is event season. Keep in mind that you’ll have 3-5 days downtime after a CoolPeel. You skin will look fine are 2-3 days, but your skin can be dry and rough for 5 days.

If you can do all these things then you’re good to go! If we can tell you’ve been outdoors a lot, or that you’re not a diligent sunscreen and hat wearer, we will recommend swapping to a different treatment.

It’s such a good feeling once you tick it off your list, and you can go into the summer feeling confident with all the spots on your skin being non problematic.

If you’re wanting any laser treatments, having a skin doctor’s clearance is essential before we start lasering away you pigment spots. And remember skin cancers can be red too so don’t just associate cancer with brown spots.

GP’s can perform skin checks, however if you’re unsure, go to a dedicated mole check clinic. Especially the ones with the high tech gadgets! Dr Christopher Irwin at The Skin Doctor in Ivanhoe is also great.

Most clients use over the counter brands like Emla and Numit.

If you want something stronger, you’ll need to ask your GP for a prescription. Just let them know that you’re having a laser treatment and they’ll decide what’s best suited for you.

We’re one step closer to celebrating double digits!

TEGANMAC.SKIN started out of boredom, back in 2017 when Johnny went abroad to study in Canada. With idle time and a passion for genuine, approachable education, the Instagram handle Tegan Mac | Skin Therapist was born.

Fast forward 2 years, it grew into me buying out the skin side of Bare Body Laser Clinic and making it into my own business.

It was me, mum, and a whole bunch of pink cookies. We hand wrote every Aus Post shipping label, packing orders on a trestle table that stood on top of 4 paint tins for elevation. I worked 5 days a week, 10-8pm 3 of those days, and doing social media over the weekends.

Fast forward to today, Mum is still wrapping every online order, hand writing your thank you notes. I moved from the dungeon downstairs to taking over the whole top floor at Bare Body. We have a team of 3 amazing therapists who care for your skin and the business with just as much passion and dedication as I do. We have 3 LED devices, 3 laser machines, 4 needling devices, 7 skincare brands, and boxes of choccy freckles!

Both of my children has crawled the floors of our clinic. Spending time in the back room since they were a few weeks old. Allowing me to be Mumma and business owner at the same time.

My Mum has made it all possible, I couldn’t ask for a better employee and mum. She’ll be getting her long service soon!

I’m still treating clients that I met years ago, before I moved upstairs. I’ve treated clients through weddings, first babies, relationship breakdowns, new jobs, lost love ones, and everything in between.

I love spending time with you all. I love making videos for you. Making you laugh, teaching you things, creating a safe space for us to take off your makeup and be who you are.

I love it all. And once I’m done having babies I’ll be back full throttle!! I’m hoping for 1 more bubba, 2 if I get rich and can afford more 😂
