One of the questions I get asked most is, “Can’t you just tone the topper or wig?”

The short answer is yes—but toning alone won’t create dimension, depth, or a natural-looking result. That’s where the real artistry comes in.

Wig transformations often require up to four separate colour applications to achieve a seamless, natural finish. The reason? The hair has already been chemically processed in the factory, which can partially remove or alter the cuticle. This means the hair absorbs colour differently and often doesn’t retain it as well as natural hair, so some areas need to be recoloured multiple times to achieve an even, long-lasting result.

This is why custom wig colouring takes time, patience, and experience—but the end result is always worth it.
