💕 A Little Time Away 💕

Just a little reminder that I'll be away from the salon until 12th August.

This isn't just a holiday for our family—it's a very special and meaningful trip where we'll all be coming together to spend time as a family, remember my beautiful grandparents, and say our final goodbyes in a place that was very special to them. ❤️

Because of that, I'll be taking some time away from work and being fully present with my family. I'll still be checking my messages every now and then, but I'll only be responding to anything truly urgent while I'm away. All other messages will be replied to once I'm back on 12th August.

Thank you so much for your understanding, kindness, and patience during this special family time. It truly means more than you know. 💕

I'll see you all very soon, refreshed, with lots of cuddles for Memphis and Maverick to catch up on, and ready to make everyone feel fabulous again. 💕

Hello humans! Senior Cadet Maverick reporting in with the latest news from Little Bug HQ.

It's been a very exciting couple of months because I celebrated not one, but TWO very important milestones! 🥳 I turned 1 year old AND celebrated my very first Gotcha Day, which means I've officially been annoying... I mean blessing this family for a whole year.

Commander Memphis also had some celebrations of her own, turning the grand old age of 8 and celebrating her 5th Gotcha Day. She's still the best Commander a Senior Cadet could ask for (even if she won't let me chew her ears as often these days).

The salon has been keeping Air Marshal Mum busy, although there have been a few quieter weeks thanks to all the winter bugs going around. She always appreciates clients who reschedule when they're feeling unwell because she'd much rather everyone enjoy their salon visit feeling their best—and it helps stop the germs from making the rounds too. 💕

Upcoming missions:✈️

26th July (tomorrow) - I'll be attending an event called Goldens on the Grass. I don't know what this is but Air Marshal Mum says I'm going to lose my mind when I see all the other Goldens. She will take plenty of videos and photos for updates.

🩵 3rd–12th August – The squadron will be away while our family takes a special trip to say our final goodbye to Grandma and Grandad by laying their ashes to rest in one of their favourite places. While it will be an emotional mission, we're also looking forward to spending some quality time together as a family.

🔨 31st August– Bathroom renovations are scheduled to begin at Little Bug HQ! We don't expect any interruptions to salon appointments, but if you hear the occasional bang or power tool in the background, that's just HQ getting a little upgrade.

I am very behind on this. Please forgive me.

Tash has been a client of mine for a few years now. When she first came to see me her hair was a bit damanged from some home experimentations with box bleach. Over the last couple of years we have perfected her colour and the condition of her hair feels FANTASTIC.

But it still won't grow.

We believe there are health related reason for this. This means it leaves poor Tash loving her hair colour but wishing it was longer.

Enter hair extensions. Yes I do offer hair extensions. Its not something I do often or advertise well (thats a story for another day)

With the use of extensions Tash left IN LOVE with her hair and we are hoping it will help to give her the illision of length while her hair continues to grow on its own.

I shall keep you updated but in the mean time..

Unfortunately, it's time for everyone's favourite topic... money.

I know, I know. I'd much rather be talking about hair, dogs or books but sadly this needs to be said.

From 1st July, there will be a small price increase across my services.

Since my last price adjustment, Milk_Shake has put their colour prices up multiple times, and I've done my best to absorb those increases without passing them on. Sadly, another colour price increase is coming on 1st July, so it's time for me to make a few little adjustments too.

The good news is that the increase will be small and should hopefully be barely noticeable for most clients.

While we're on the topic of boring grown-up things, the coming changes to merchant fees have also got me looking at ways to save everyone a few dollars. I'm currently setting up a PayID option for the salon, which will give you another way to pay and help us all avoid those pesky fees. If PayID isn't for you I will always take card payments, AfterPay and good old cash.

Thank you, as always, for supporting my little home salon, trusting me with your hair, listening to me waffle on for hours, and keeping this dream of mine going. I appreciate every single one of you more than you know. ❤️

Now that we've dealt with the yucky money stuff, let's get back to talking about hair. ✨

Small changed but big results. Nicole came in needing a good haircut and something to help her natural colour feel a bit more vibrant. We didn't want to completely ruin over 2 years of growing out her natural sparkles (aka greys) so we added in a few micro foils and a soft toner to had a bit of brightness to her colour.

I love how the end result turned out 😍

Today, Cadet Maverick officially turns **ONE YEAR OLD**. 🥳

After months of intensive training, chaotic field exercises, unauthorised zoomies, advanced sock theft, and approximately 47 incidents involving my ears… I am pleased to announce that Maverick is being promoted from **Cadet** to…

⭐ **Senior Cadet Maverick** ⭐

This promotion recognises his outstanding achievements in:
• Salon greetings
• Basin cuddles
• Barking at suspicious leaves
• Following Mum everywhere
• Rolling in questionable things outdoors
• Bringing maximum chaos and happiness to HQ

While Senior Cadet Maverick still requires additional training in areas such as:
❌ Personal space
❌ Not sleeping in doorways
❌ Respecting the Christmas tree
❌ Understanding that my ears are not chew toys

…he has officially become a valued member of the Little Bug squadron and an all-round very good boy. 💛

To celebrate his birthday, today’s activities are expected to include treats, naps, excessive excitement, and at least one moment where he runs so fast he forgets how corners work.
