My relationship with skin technology has changed enormously over the years.

When I first started in cosmetic medicine, I didn’t have nearly the same interest in skin that I do now.

Then I reached a point where I thought, okay, there has to be more we can look at here.

Collagen.
Skin quality.

Texture.

What’s happening beneath the surface.

That curiosity is what pushed me further into technology, and it’s still what drives a lot of the decisions I make in clinic now.

Ultraformer MPT is one of those technologies.

It gives us another option to consider when focused ultrasound is appropriate for someone’s skin, anatomy and treatment goals.

Not everyone needs the same thing.

Naturally, one of the first things people have been asking me is what has actually changed with Ultraformer MPT.

Quite a bit.

MPT is the newer generation of the Ultraformer technology we’ve been using in clinic.

The ultrasound energy can be delivered more efficiently and precisely, treatment sessions are faster, and the experience is more comfortable compared with our previous Ultraformer technology.

What hasn’t changed is how we decide to use it.

I’m not interested in using a technology simply because it’s new.

We look at your skin, anatomy and what you’d actually like to address. Then we decide where the technology may fit.

That part will always matter more to me than having the newest machine in the room.

A little while ago, we told you that the next generation of one of our favourite technologies was coming.

Now it’s here.

Ultraformer MPT has officially arrived at Dr Cosima Medispa.

After years of working with Ultraformer III, I was really interested to see what the upgraded generation could bring to the clinic.

MPT still uses focused ultrasound energy, with treatment customised according to the area being treated, your skin and your individual assessment.

What has changed is the technology itself.

The newer generation allows us to deliver energy more efficiently and with greater precision.

Treatment times are also faster, and the overall experience is more comfortable compared with our previous Ultraformer technology.

For me, that is where the excitement is.

New technology is only valuable when it adds something meaningful to the way we treat.

The approach remains the same.

We still look at your skin, structure, firmness and treatment goals first. Then we decide whether this technology has a place in your plan.

Ultraformer MPT is now available in clinic, and we’ll be sharing much more about it over the coming weeks.

Meet Natalie 🤍

There are some people who naturally make you feel looked after from the moment you meet them.

Natalie is one of those people.

She joins us as our Receptionist and PA after more than 15 years working in healthcare, bringing with her a wealth of experience in patient care and a Certificate III in Dental Assisting.

For me, the experience you have at Dr Cosima Medispa starts well before you sit down in the treatment room.

It’s the person who answers your call. The familiar face who welcomes you when you arrive. The little details that make you feel comfortable, remembered and genuinely cared for.

Natalie fits into that philosophy so beautifully.

She has always had a passion for beauty and self-care, so moving into aesthetics felt like a very natural progression. She’s also incredibly eager to learn, which you all know is something I LOVE.

Outside the clinic, you’ll probably find her planning her next trip, exploring a new city or spending time with her Labradoodle, Chuck 🐶

Some appointments feel different on a Saturday.

Saturdays at our Bondi Junction clinic are with Nurse Anika, part of our clinical team working alongside Dr Cosima on patient care.

Anika sees patients for consultations and treatments across the week. Saturday appointments offer greater flexibility for patients with busy weekday schedules.
