How you look after yourself before and after your treatment will play a part in how you recover and even how you experience your appointment. Here are a small list of do’s and dont’s for you.

- Avoid alcohol 24 hours before your appointment to minimise bruising.
- Avoid medications and supplements that thin your blood leading up to your treatment (this also increases the risk of bruising). For example: Neurofen, Aspirin, St John’s Wort, Vitamin D & E, Ginko tablets, Willow Bark, Fish oil.
- Do not wear makeup before your appointment. It will be removed as it increases the risk of infection.
- Allow 2 weeks either side of a COVID vaccination before or after filler treatment.
- Avoid excessive exercise 24 hours after your treatment, this is to minimise irritating the area.
- Wait one month after any lip filler treatment for dental work.
- Women who are pregnant, trying to conceive or currently breastfeeding are not suitable for treatment due to safety reasons.
- Avoid skin treatments 2 weeks before and after injectable treatment.

Dry skin is a common issue during these winter months. The changes in temperature and humidity can irritate our skin greatly.

Dry skin can result in flaking, itching, cracks, rough patches, redness and stinging.

Some simple tips to help treat or prevent dry skin in winter include:

* Avoid high heater temperatures.
* Have shorter and cooler showers.
* Avoid over consumption of coffee, caffeine and alcohol.
* Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!
* Avoid skincare products that contain alcohol.
* Don’t over exfoliate.
* Use Vitamin B serum.
* Lock in moisture with a good moisturiser containing hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid.
