Another weekend, another freeway closure! Be prepared for delays and extra traffic along Doncaster road and surrounds on the way to your appointments 😢

Upcoming Eastern Freeway closure 📢

From 10pm, Friday 11 September to 5am, Monday 14 September, the Eastern Freeway will be closed between Chandler Highway and Tram Road.

During this closure we’ll be:
Laying 11,000 tonnes of asphalt across sections of the Freeway 🛣️
Making progress on the Doncaster Road interchange 🏗️
Preparing Thompson Road and Bulleen Road citybound entry ramps to reopen 🚥
And installing new noise walls and on-road smart technology 🔩

Thompsons Road will also remain closed in both directions between Bulleen Road and Thompsons Road Ringwood-bound entry ramp, with detours in place.

The diaphragm isn't just for breathing. It's a large, dome-shaped muscle, and when it's tight, the knock-on effects can be felt well beyond the chest.

🚧 Major Eastern Freeway closure in both directions this weekend 🚧

The Eastern Freeway will be closed in both directions between Bulleen Road and Springvale Road from 10pm Friday 14 August to 5am Monday 17 August. Expect significant delays of up to 90 minutes. Avoid the area and allow extra time.

⚠️ Citybound traffic can use Springvale Road, Mitcham Road, Doncaster Road and Bulleen Road to detour around the closure.
⚠️Ringwood bound traffic can use Bulleen Road, Manningham Road, Doncaster Road, Mitcham Road and Springvale Road to detour around the closure.
⚠️For longer trips to the city or airport, consider using alternative arterials including the Monash Freeway or the M80 Ring Road.

The following ramps will also be closed:
❌ Chandler Highway Ringwood-bound entry ramp to the Eastern Freeway
Road signage will be in place to guide you through the area during the Eastern Freeway Upgrade works.

During these works, crews will continue asphalting new freeway lanes, complete works on the Bulleen Road and Belford Road bridges, as well as the Burke Road Ringwood-bound exit ramp.
