Lots of lips in the studio this week...🤗

Today was a lip correction and neutralisation for this gentleman.

Just to be clear, the previous lip tattooing you can see in the BEFORE photo was performed by another artist. He came to me for correction and neutralisation of the remaining cool, blue-purple tones.

This is going to be a process, not a one-session treatment, but I’m really happy with where we finished after our first session.

For the neutralisation I used ; Safari, followed by Perfume + Lollipop on the final pass. We completed five gentle passes, keeping the lips well numbed, hydrated and conditioned throughout so the tissue remained as calm and workable as possible.

Now we let everything heal and allow the colour to settle. He’ll return in approximately 5–6 weeks for his second session, then I prefer to allow around 12 weeks before the third so I can properly assess the healed colour before deciding what his lips need next.

Fresh colour is never the final colour, so the healed result is what really matters.

I’ll share his progress once these have healed. I’m looking forward to seeing how much of that cool tone we’ve neutralised after session one. 🤎

My work in beauty, cosmetic and paramedical tattooing is part of me. It is where my hands, my creativity and my desire to help others come together. But beyond my work, there is a whole heart and a whole life.

My boys are the deepest roots of that life. They may not be pictured here, because there wasn’t enough room and because I’m sure they don’t want their mama putting their faces all over social media, but they are carried in every beat of my heart. No matter how old they become, or how far away life takes them, they will always be my boys.

The ocean was my first great love. It has always known how to quiet my mind and return me to myself. Tropical water, the taste of salt, sunlight dancing over a reef, the feeling of a wave lifting me and carrying me home, that is where my soul breathes most freely.

Then came Anders, my beautiful love, my safe harbour and the man I want beside me as we keep discovering this life together. And our darling Freja, all scruffy sweetness, loyalty and unconditional love, who somehow takes up far more room in our hearts than her little body ever could.

Life has taught me that the heart is a remarkable thing. It doesn’t run out of room. With every person we love, every place that changes us and every memory we gather, it stretches a little wider.

And yes, sometimes we lose pieces of it.🥹

Some souls leave an emptiness that nothing can fill. But perhaps they don’t take our love with them. Perhaps they simply teach our hearts a new way to carry it.

So I carry those I love beside me, those who are here, those who are far away and those I can no longer hold.

My heart has been filled, stretched, broken and mended, yet somehow, it continues to grow. And there is always room for more love. 🫶 🌊

I’ve loved my dad since the day I was born in 1971. Like every father and daughter, we’ve had our moments, and I’m sure raising a daughter through the ’70s and ’80s wasn’t always easy! 😂

But as I grew older, Dad became one of my greatest rocks. I knew he would have walked across fire just to be there for me when I needed him.

And now, life has turned things around.

Today, I get to be Dad’s rock as he walks through life with Alzheimer’s. He may not remember everything, but I remember enough for both of us. 🤗

I remember his love, his strength and all the times he was simply there.

Happy Father’s Day, Dad. Now it’s my turn to be there for you. 💛

THREE YEARS HEALED → FRESHLY REFRESHED

This beautiful client has been coming to me for three years, and this is exactly how I want my cosmetic tattooing to age. 💛

You can see how her brows have softly faded over time, without becoming heavy, blocky or oversaturated. Sometimes clients tell me their healed brows feel too soft, but trust me, this softness is a good thing. We don’t want your brows walking into the room before you do! 😘

Cosmetic tattooing is designed to fade. Nothing we put into the skin should be expected to look exactly the same forever. When it’s time for a refresh, I want to be working with beautifully faded pigment so I can introduce fresh colour, warmth and vibrancy rather than continually layering pigment over already saturated brows.

In the video, you’ll see her brows before her refresh, beautifully softened after three years, followed by her freshly refreshed brows. We’ve brought back warmth, definition and vibrancy while still keeping them natural.

And remember, what you see immediately after a refresh is not the final result. These will soften and heal approximately 30% lighter, leaving a beautiful, natural finish. 👌

Good cosmetic tattooing isn’t just about how beautiful your brows look today, it’s about how beautifully they age.
