BTS of a recent Editorial Hair & Makeup Look for May Issue ~ Petal Shift.

The brief called for whimsical romance. My interpretation of this leaned into luminous skin, soft flushed tones, beauty that felt effortless rather than overdone and a glow that felt almost candlelit.

I wanted to create something ethereal and delicate, a look that felt like a painting coming to life, full of movement, warmth, texture, light and hair that moved like wild florals in the wind while still feeling attainable and elevated.

Like poetry pressed between flower petals.

Every now and then I come across images from a shoot I was booked for that remind me why I fell in love with makeup in the first place.

Clean skin, Soft light, Beautiful jewellery, and the kind of natural, editorial beauty that never goes out of style.

This was a beautiful shoot I did with Holly from , and a stunning local jewellery designer , and I still love how fresh and effortless this hair and makeup look felt.

Sometimes in between teaching, business building and life behind the scenes, it’s nice to pause and remember the artistry that started it all.

Birthday date night that felt like my own private party for all the senses thanx to the opening of 🥳🙌🏻

and honestly… what a way to roll into another year!🤩

Music. Acrobatics. Culture. Live bands under the stars. Contemporary dance. Saucy cabaret. Gospel that made you smile without even trying.

It was one of those nights where you remember why Adelaide in season just hits different.

What I love most about this time of year is that you can walk into a space and be transported, one minute you’re in through music, the next you’re watching gravity-defying acrobatics, then you’re dancing to house classics like you’re 22 again.

And yes… Gasha? I will absolutely be going back. The hair. The makeup. The strength. The production. Elite.

This is your reminder that this is not the month to stay home.

Book the show. Try something random. Support the artists. Make the mid-week date night happen.

Fringe season is short, don’t waste it scrolling.
Here was my recap;

was the host and also has his own show I’m seeing next week called California Crooners Club- book that one too as it’s now also got an additional Australian X factor winner - Isaiah Firebrace in it.

- Gasha
- History of House
- Long way to the top

– Fibres

Which show are you seeing next?

Okay but can we talk about the strength in this show for a second?!

Last night I saw The Mirror at The Octagon in Gluttony and I was honestly blown away.

Pure muscle, complex lifts, no safety nets, suspended high and yet it all looked effortless.

Add in live vocals (that slow Britney moment?! 🔥) and immersive lighting with that video selfie moment…

It was such a uniquely refreshing way to layer the levels of creativity that goes into the show. That alone is worth seeing (and I was so mesmerised that I did not even capture it, so you will have to see it!)

It felt modern, powerful and beautifully curated.

If you’re doing Fringe in 2026 and want something visually mesmerising without it being over-the-top — this is it.

Feb 20 – March 22 at Octagon

Put it on your list.
