Between the rain, sunshine, fog and frost, our farm continues its seasonal work. New crops are planted, the soil is nourished by winter rain and our carefully harvested herbs, now dried, are handmade into herbal tinctures.

With its vibrant purple and yellow blooms, Heartsease (Viola tricolor) is one of the many botanicals grown, harvested and slowly dried at Claret Ash Farm in the Adelaide Hills.

Featured here in the Janesce drying room, you can still see its distinctive colours, beautifully preserved through the drying process.

Naturally rich in antioxidants and traditionally valued for its soothing and healing properties, Heartsease is a cherished ingredient in our herbal tinctures.

Its gentle, skin-supporting qualities are one of the reasons it is included in all of our Elixirs, helping to nurture healthy looking skin with every application.

Back in March, the Yarrow was in full flower at Claret Ash Farm in the Adelaide Hills.

Now that it's winter, the gardens are resting, but this little clip is a reminder of where many of our ingredients begin.

Yarrow has been used in traditional herbal practice for generations and has traditionally been valued for its soothing and astringent properties.

Once harvested, it's carefully incorporated into our botanical skincare, including our Shade of Pale Serum Complex.
