Monday to Friday, 1pm–5pm

Embrace Funerals is a family-owned funeral home in Adelaide; not part of a chain, not a corporate machine. We're a small, deeply human team who sit with families, not above them. We've become one of Adelaide's highest-rated funeral homes by doing things properly and with a human side not always found in large corporations: transparent pricing, genuine care, and never rushing the people in front of us.

We're growing, and we're looking for someone to join our office and become a familiar, steady face for the families who walk through our door.

🌹The role
This is a part-time administration role, roughly 20 -25 hours a week, working 1pm to 5pm each weekday. You'll be the calm, organised presence behind the scenes, and sometimes right alongside our directors on service days.

🌹Day to day, you'll:

Manage phone calls, emails and enquiries with warmth and professionalism, including from families who are grieving and likely having one of the hardest weeks of their lives.
Support our directors with arrangement paperwork, filing, and general office administration, including death registrations, cremation permits, liaising with doctors for certificates and speaking with families in grief, taking their calls.
Help keep our systems, records and documentation accurate and up to date.
Step in on service days when needed, handing out memorial cards, assisting with light catering for chapel services, and helping things run smoothly for families and guests.
Be flexible across other areas of the business as they come up, no two days here look exactly the same.

🌹What we're looking for:
Someone that lives within half hour of St. Marys. (5042)

We can teach the admin side. What we can't teach is character, and that's what matters most here.
A genuinely warm, personable manner, someone families feel comfortable with from the first phone call.
Comfortable and composed around death, grief, and families in distress; this is a caring role, not just an admin one.
Well presented and well groomed, as you'll be representing Embrace in person with families and at services.
Reliable, organised, and calm under pressure
Flexible and willing to help wherever it's needed, even outside your usual tasks.
Previous admin or reception experience is a plus, but the right person matters more than a perfect resume.
Prior experience in a funeral home, aged care, healthcare or similarly sensitive environment is highly regarded, but not essential.
