Verbs of Jesus
In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus say, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” (Matthew 7:7)
Christianity is a religion of action, we know, and the direction to that action is given to us by Christ himself. Ask, seek and knock are all verbs, words of action.

Love is an Action
Christianity is a religion of action. Over and over again, Christ teaches that we are to use the talents God has given us to bring goodness to lives – ours, as well as the lives of others. It is in doing that we discover responsibility. Hence, life has value and meaning when we act, when we share the gifts God showers on us, with others.

Jesus’ singular commandment was to love. And to avoid an misunderstanding, Jesus demonstrates the action of love with His life. “Love one another as I have loved you,” he says (John 13:34). Jesus’ love is a sacrificial love. We’re called to that same standard, to love by giving of ourselves.

And when you pray…
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And do not bring us to the time of trial,
but rescue us from the evil one.
Each word in this prayer is a power-word making the entire prayer meaningful and effective. Over the next few days we will look at each phrase and its meaning for the Christian today.

In stark contrast, as Christians, our truth is a person. “I am the way, the truth and the life,’ says Jesus. Go ahead and test this truth for purpose and intention. You’ll find that this Truth has a genuine purpose which is Life itself.

For five weeks, the “Tօօn” Social-Educational Center of the Gougark Diocese became a place of learning, creativity, and new beginnings for ten women eager to strengthen their professional skills.🤍
Led by internationally recognized Armenian designer Kevork Nour Shadoyan, participants explored fashion modeling, pattern making, garment construction, and advanced sewing techniques—transforming ideas into designs while gaining confidence in their creative abilities.
More than learning new skills, this program opened doors to future employment, entrepreneurship, and personal growth.
This training was generously funded by Vibrantz for Vanadzor, a project launched by Epostle with the blessing and guidance of Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, in partnership with Bishop Hovnan Hakopyan and the Gougark Diocese.

Sandoukht, the First Armenian Christian Martyr
While there may be no one taunting us with the “sword or the crown” question, but certainly we are aware of how the “crown” in the guise of material wealth can lure us away from God. Saint Sandoukht gives us an opportunity to reflect on our priorities and where those priorities may lead.

The Words that triggered the Transfiguration
Part 2
A set of conversations between Jesus and his disciples took place before the Transfiguration. This week we are looking at the sayings of Jesus as a preface to the Revealtion of God at this Event.
According to Matthew’s Gospel (16) Jesus asks his disciples, about the buzz on the streets of Jerusalem. “Who do people say that I, The Son of Man, am?”
The disciples gave some interesting answers – “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”

The Words that triggered the Transfiguration
This week the Armenian Church celebrated the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ. This event, which is recorded in the synoptic Gospels, is skin to the Theophany, in that God is revealed to humanity during the Transfiguration. On a mountain top, Scripture tells us, Jesus stands radiating the Light. “His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light.” In the witness of three of his disciples, Peter, James and John, two characters from history appear, Elijah representing the Prophets and Moses as a symbol of the Law. Jesus stands between the Law and the Prophets, the Voice of God the Father expresses that Jesus is His Beloved Son. Jesus is the completion of the Law and the Prophets.
