PCOS (Polycystic O***y
Syndrome) is now officially being renamed to PMOS - Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome.
Why the change?
Because the old name didn’t fully reflect what this condition actually is.
💡Many people with PCOS:
• don’t have ovarian cysts
• experience symptoms beyond fertility issues
• struggle with insulin resistance, inflammation, hormonal imbalance, fatigue, anxiety, and more
The new name recognises PMOS as a whole-body endocrine and metabolic condition - not just a reproductive disorder.
✨What PMOS means:
• Polyendocrine → affects multiple hormone systems
• Metabolic → linked to insulin resistance & metabolism
• Ovarian → includes reproductive symptoms
• Syndrome → a collection of related symptoms
Common symptoms can include:
•Irregular periods

•Fertility struggles
•Anxiety & depression

The condition itself has NOT changed.
Current diagnosis and treatment approaches remain the same while healthcare systems transition to the new terminology.

Electrolysis is called a permanent hair removal method because it targets the hair follicle directly at the root ✨
During the treatment, a very fine probe is gently inserted into the natural opening of the hair follicle. Once inserted, a controlled energy is applied to destroy the cells responsible for hair growth. After the follicle is treated successfully, the hair can no longer grow back permanently.
