🌿 PANSY — MORE THAN A PRETTY FACE

We know her from garden beds and cheerful little pots, but Pansy has a story that reaches far beyond the garden.

Viola tricolor — also known as Heartsease and Johnny-jump-up — has long found a place in traditional herbal preparations.

For us, she is the fifth and final botanical in our Anti-Itch Bug Bite Salve. 🌿

Plantain. Lemon Balm. Calendula. Stinging Nettle. Pansy.

Five plants. Each chosen with purpose.

🌿 HERB OF THE WEEK — PANSY

Small, delicate and quietly beautiful, Pansy (Viola tricolor) has a long tradition of use in herbal skin preparations.

In our Anti-Itch Bug Bite Salve, Pansy joins Plantain, Lemon Balm, Calendula and Stinging Nettle — five herbs chosen with purpose.

Carefully dried, slowly infused into nourishing oils, and thoughtfully blended into our little green tin. 🌿

For bites, itchy skin & those little outdoor mishaps.

Stinging Nettle has a reputation that usually arrives before the herb does. Brush against the fresh plant and you’re unlikely to forget it! 😄

But the sting doesn’t tell the whole story.

Once carefully harvested and dried, nettle becomes a very different botanical material — and one that has held a place in traditional herbal practice for generations.

It’s also one of the five dried botanicals we slowly infuse into the nourishing oils for our Anti-Itch Bug Bite Salve. 💚

Sometimes the plants we’re quickest to avoid are the ones with the most interesting stories to tell.
