A gift with purchase may look simple. Making it seamless takes planning.
Products, gifts, packaging, quantities and retailer allocations all need to come together at the right time.
The customer sees added value.
Behind it is the coordination that brings every element together as intended.
One post. Thousands of views. Suddenly, everyone wants the product.
When demand moves faster than expected, visibility matters.
Which retailers are seeing the strongest interest?
Where is stock available?
How quickly can it reach the right place?
A viral moment creates attention.
Responsive planning, clear stock visibility and smart allocation help turn that attention into sales.

The sale often starts with the tester.
A fragrance needs to be experienced. A shade needs to be seen on the skin. A skincare texture often needs to be felt.
That makes testers and samples more than complimentary stock. They are part of the retail experience and an important selling tool.
Keeping them available, presentable and correctly allocated requires its own planning.
In prestige beauty, the customer journey often begins before the product reaches the till.

PDS is powered by women across every part of the business.
From counters and warehouses to finance, human resources, planning, training, operations, logistics and leadership, their contribution shapes how the industry moves.
This Women’s Month, we recognise the women whose knowledge, commitment and daily impact help keep complex operations on track and brands moving forward.

At PDS, we do more than move premium products.
We bring together market knowledge, strong retailer relationships, experienced people and the systems needed to support every stage of the journey.
From market entry to everyday ex*****on, our focus is on making complex operations work with greater clarity, consistency and control.

Strong operations depend on strong teams.
But strong teams do not happen by accident.
They need structure, support, clear communication and an employee experience that enables people to contribute, develop and grow.
As Human Resources Director, Elona Nair helps shape that environment at PDS, from the first day an employee joins the business to the milestones that follow.
Her leadership supports the people, culture and organisational foundations behind the operation.

One wrong digit can stop a perfect product.
The packaging is approved. The stock is ready. The campaign is lined up.
Then a barcode does not match, a case quantity is incorrect or the wrong price is loaded.
Suddenly, a product that is physically ready cannot be received, invoiced or replenished.
That is the hidden importance of master data.
Every SKU needs an accurate operational identity, from its barcode and description to its dimensions, pricing, tax and compliance details.
It may look like administration, but it determines whether the product can move through the retail system at all.
In retail, accurate data is not paperwork.
It is what makes the product retail-ready.

The lowest-cost model is not always the cheapest.
A distribution model can look efficient on paper until the realities of the market are added.
Working capital. Retailer requirements. Promotional support. Compliance. Returns. Freight volatility. Long payment cycles.
Leave these out of the model and they do not disappear. They surface later as margin pressure, service gaps and ex*****on that cannot be sustained.
A realistic cost-to-serve model is not about making distribution unnecessarily expensive.
It is about understanding what the South African market will require before commitments are made.
Building the operation around that reality protects more than margin.
It protects performance.

A 40-shade foundation range is not one stock line. It is 40 individual inventory requirements.
Each shade must be planned, allocated and replenished according to how and where it sells.
One shade may move quickly in one region and slowly in another. The range can look healthy overall while the exact variant customers want is unavailable.
Beauty creates choice at shelf level.
Distribution manages the complexity behind it.
In prestige beauty, accuracy means having the right variant in the right place at the right time.
