“Part 8 💛 When I Stopped Chasing Regrowth

For almost 2 years, so much of my energy went into doctors, appointments, medications, treatments and trying to figure out how to get my hair back.

Eventually, after questioning my lupus diagnosis, seeking another opinion and getting more testing, I made a very personal decision: I was done treating my alopecia.

I was healthy. I had two little boys, a husband I loved and a life happening right in front of me.

I didn’t want to spend it chasing my old hair, taking medications that are not a guarantee and that may also have some pretty heavy side effects.

I wanted to be a good mom, a good wife, and learn how to love the woman I saw in the mirror- with or without hair.

So I kept exploring wigs. I kept sharing through Mama Is Bald. And slowly, I started putting my energy into building a life I loved instead of waiting for my hair to come back. 💛

I wasn’t chasing my old hair anymore. I was learning how to love my life without it.
