Just like the hair on your head, your natural lashes move through a growth cycle: growth, transition, rest, & shedding. Research has shown that our hair cycles can shift seasonally, with more hairs entering the resting/shedding phase during certain times of the year. Most noticeably around late summer into fall & late winter into spring.
Changes in daylight, hormones, temperature, & our natural biological rhythms are believed to play a part. So during seasonal transitions, you may notice a few more natural lashes coming out than usual😭 & when your natural lash sheds, the extension comes off with it.
This does not automatically mean your retention is bad or that something is wrong with your extensions. Your lashes are simply making room for new growth.
& NO, all of your lashes don’t suddenly shed at once! Each follicle is on its own individual growth cycle, which is why regular fills are still so important.
So if your lashes seem a little more dramatic with the shedding lately… you’re probably not imagining it💭✨
